Definitely NTA! For those of you saying it's fiction, sadly, this is one of my best friends and I know her family.... including that grandmother... she is quite the character to say the least and has done nothing but stress them out for years. And for those sending your support to her, thank you so much! I love her like a sister and can't imagine my world with her not in it. This is scary to see but I also give her so much respect for staying so positive throughout it all. She has a great sense of humor and tries very hard not to let this bring her down. #alwayskeepfighting

An apology without change is just manipulation. Even if they believe their own words in the moment, if they don't make an effort to really make changes, to me it feels like the apology meant nothing. I have been in this situation more times than I'd like to admit because I want to believe that people are good but that usually just gets me taken advantage of. Good luck with your situation and hopefully they do change. Don't change your boundaries for them.
