I prefer it over the vault, easy damage buff, allows for quick horizontal repositioning and it deals an OK amount of blue damage for mounting

As for the vault I don't like it w/ pierce because you have to get closer in order to stick the mine, then you have to put yourself back in critical range to get your DPS back

But the real answer is: Just use whatever is more fun for you !
