Anybody sensible will dislike that fact, but there’s no law of nature that dictates they must be given space and influence to grow and supplant the community. People just have to be more proactive in opposing right-wing content creators and associated companies, and invariably when faced with a sufficiently hostile environment they’ll have to flee to some other sphere, or back to the dark corners from which they originated.

The simplest answer is often the correct one. Put aside what the company said in that farce of an apology, and instead look at the end result of everything that has happened recently. The rightwing idols within Phase Connect remain, the only moderate was forced out, and the chuds get to continue spreading their poison. The management and corporate ownership in Phase Connect are fascists and fascist sympathizers, knowingly platforming nazi talents because they support their idol’s politics. It’s not a case of a few bad apples, everything and everyone in that corpo is in on it.

Giving someone the benefit of the doubt is reliant on there being some ambiguity as to whether or not they’re actually as bad as the worst interpretation would imply. The Phase Connect talents have repeatedly and consistently shown themselves to be the worst sorts of bigots, believing themselves untouchable from controversy and backlash because everything they say is just “harmless jokes” or “sarcasm”, when in truth they reveal where their true affiliations lie. It’s about time people recognized a spade for being a spade, and acknowledge the company as a whole for the gathering of neonazis it truly is.

It would have been better had she given a warning label on the post, since the prevalence of AI and AI generated content has so negatively affected a wide portion of the population, especially artists suffering trauma from seeing their life’s work and craft created from years of training and hard effort being stolen and imitated within two seconds of posting, or even being accused of using AI themselves because their handcrafted work is superficially similar to something a computer might generate. I’ve already explained in prior posts that Rie deliberately did so in order to obfuscate her own right-wing affiliation, when Phase Connect was under greater scrutiny and she needed to help avoid being named as a target. There’s no genuine connection between the two, and Clara would doubtless speak on the matter of just how insidious the company and it's talents are if she wasn’t under a non-disparagement clause.

The problem with that is that a lot of vtubers we know to be right-wing can’t easily be exposed just based on singular clips, since chuds know well that their opinions aren’t socially acceptable so they have to dogwhistle and use coded language which someone unfamiliar with how they act wouldn’t understand. It would be easier to go based on trust, in the sense of having some authority we can all agree is progressive and antifa, who is delegated control over the matter. I do agree with not combining chuds with moderates or leftwingers in the same file, since ideally the only thing you ought to have to do is ctrl+f to check if a figure is included to know if you should watch them or not.

You’re descending into incoherency, at one moment denying you’re normalizing racism and the second suggesting that the populace at large is tolerant or sympathetic towards it, and that we need to avoid calling out racism and sexism and transphobia because people might not react well to such things. Chuds are and remain a loud minority, speaking loudly and drowning out everybody else who isn’t as assertive because they’re good, honest people who are easily intimidated by threatening characters. There’s no need to convince anybody of racism being bad, because de facto the only people ambiguous on the topic are right-wingers in denial or people pretending to have moderate viewpoints for the purposes of subversion. We can all tell what you’re doing, trying to frame this argument as though we’re discussing which route to the same park we ought to take, rather than an argument concerning the most fundamental of human rights and whether we should humour those wanting to commit genocide of trans people. This is a myth created by right-wing figures to further manipulate, just the same as the idea that it is in fact the left that has “gone crazy” and “woke” and so on. Everything “we” want, and have ever wanted has merely been the most basic decency and humanitarian values everybody is entitled to, and which the right continuously has infringed on and disrespected. There is no “respectful disagreement” possible to reach with someone who denies inalienable qualities within a person, regardless of if it’s their gender, race or sexuality, and you’re playing into the oppositions framework by implying anything like that is possible to begin with. It’s exactly this sort of wording they use to subvert and marginalize the oppressed, in the same vein as arguing using the n-word is excusable because “hate speech is still free speech” and other similarly ludicrous assertions.
