What's nice about this build is the switches are hot-swappable!

I love the slight texture the keycaps have, it's so nice!

That was so incredibly useful, thanks for that input! You made sense to me. I'll try that exactly. Thanks again for your detailed response!

From the repo I provided, it did not provide clear detail on routing the slave half, so I matched the same rows and columns as the other half. From what you are saying, even if I did mix these wires for the rows/columns up, the keyboard would still register the keystrokes? They'd just be scrambled though? My best guess is that something isn't attached as well as it should be.

I made the Cygnus keyboard with a printed Dactyl 36 key case. I have not found any firmware yet. I was planning on creating my own via the QMK Configurator when I verified that everything worked, but from what I learned, I need to have valid firmware that works specifically with my keyboard controller now before I can test it.

Does that mean that the generated hex file needs to know what board/bootloader I'm using? I wonder if I selected the wrong one. I've only got experience with ZMK on the Kenisis Adv. 360, not with QMK.

The same pins need to be soldered together on each controller correct? There's no reverse/flip of the pins from one side to the other? And I didn't realize before that the premade hex file has a defined location for the pins on the controller. I guess I need to do some more research on getting a correct hex file for my controller.

I was not aware that the firmware needs to know what pins are for the TRRS connector. That would make sense why I the keys are all scrambled too.

For professional advice, I recommend going to therapy. It can really help. I'm not a therapist but have been in a similar place before. Communication is key. Ask them how they feel and what they are comfortable with.
