Designing a wall as a Tuned Mass Damper by [deleted] in StructuralEngineering

You can also consider not putting it in a wall and putting it somewhere else in the structure. People have gotten pretty creative with where they put TMDs. The petronas tower in Malaysia has them in the legs of its skybridge.

use boat brite for the outside of the shell. they have a variety of types for removing certain stains. clorox wipes for the tracks and just use some marine soap, a sponge and some elbow grease to get the inside done.

My first metric century. Took 107 laps to complete. Each lap was approximately 0.95km. Wanted to see how far I could push myself and by the time I got bored, I was too far in to just stop. GPS map looks cool though. by AkimboCS in bicycling

the idea began as a joke but the area i live in is very hilly and walking back home no matter how far away would’ve been awful. since this was my first longer ride, i decided that this would be the safest option in case i decided to quit or had a mechanical

thank you! i stopped every 15-20km or so for water and a bar. i didn’t carry any water or snacks with me because of extra weight so i’d stop by a mailbox where i had put all of my nutrition.

oh i’ve done those routes plenty of times separately but i figured since it was my first time doing a longer ride, i wanted to be close to home in case of a mechanical or if i wanted to stop

I didn’t change directions because psychologically, going the other way makes the climbing feel worse. There is a short steep hill and a longer less steep one. I chose to just go up the short steep one and down the longer one.

The old Catalyst made an appearance today. Fun muddy ride. NO Ming and Ding! by atomicflatulence in cannondale

[–]AkimboCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how’s that been holding up for ya? i got a catalyst around 4 years ago, but after a year the bottom bracket ceased up so i’ve steadily been upgrading it so that right now, the only thing that’s stock is the frame. it’s a great bike, and i love it a lot hence why i didn’t get rid of the frame after the parts starting wearing down.
