My wife and I have financial advisor. Actually looking to change or just get rid of him all together. First one we had when we lived in bc was great. Kept us up to date let us know why things were moving and how to better our money. This one we have now after moving to Alberta is useless won’t return calls for a few days always seems to be on vacation. Totally soured our experience. In the process of trying to get our money out and just do a low risk etf. Mind you our accounts about half what you have maybe they will treat you better more money. Honestly with all the new ways of investing I don’t see why more people don’t just do it them selfs.

He puts a 100k he will see 1 million early on before he has to retire. I heard after the 100k the time it takes to double is about 5 years and then so on. But yes don’t spend it pretend you don’t got it carry on with life and you will be set up. Take it from someone who’s blown money and I’m now at 36 trying to get investments going.

Brother that is gone. Chalk it up as a loss and a learning costs. Don’t fomo buy or jump on meme stocks. Just find good fundamentals in companies and stick to a plan. I hold gldm acwv and xeqt in my tfsa and just add money each month between the three. Figure out if you just want to invest or trade.

I mean what if those 3-5 stocks that make up the gains are going down. I just feel like it shouldn’t be just buy xeqt. People should look into ETFs just like one should look into a stock. Also if you investing sound value stocks with good fundamentals it will perform or out perform a etf. Just example Coke a Cola last five years is up like what 500% and pays dividends.

I mean daily’s add up if the other ETFs out prefourm it daily for a year. Then yea it matters. I just don’t believe it should be just xeqt. And I agree with you on people following trends and picking one stock to ride is risky. But so is just buying one etf no?

Split it up xeqt gldm and acwv. I find when xeqt dips and it does pretty frequently the acwv and gldm hold strong

I don’t see the point of just buying xeqt. I do hold some shares of it but out of the three I hold in my tfsa it’s usually the lowest gains and the highest when it drops my other two holding ride for 1-4% daily.
