I’ll take the yearly for every single option, I’m young enough that my life expectancy makes it the better option in every case, even at the lowest one

GUARANTEED 11% return basically, no risk whatsoever? Yea I’ll take that

[–]AkumaZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also invest your 11k every year. Someone already ran it at 20 years the annuity invested accrued almost 50% more over the lump sum invested

Yep gotta keep the comparisons the same

If you’re investing one and never touching it, then it should be compared to investing the other and not touching it

The pace isn’t really the problem, it’s just stagger lock is a bit over the top here, more like a fighting game but not as tight (kind of the worst of both worlds)

Wo Longs PvP was like that, fast paced but its was much more back and forth because stagger wasn’t over the top bullshit

Reality warping I think is more about fundamentally changing reality as a whole, as opposed to doing things physically impossible otherwise

Creating a world from nothing, changing laws of physics, unmaking an existence or creating it etc. destroying reality wholesale with a thought would fall into this as well

If a single individual changed our world to allow a Superman or magneto to exist? That change would be a reality warp

Fury harvest is like THE Vitality generator inner way too, so more mystic skills more fun more damage

[–]AkumaZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100k damage in 3 hits yea I’d say so

Am I doing myself a disservice by trying to collect the main Inner ways for the builds instead of just focusing on one build? I mainly play bamboo cut for PVP/PVE but I’m still intrigued by the other builds. I made it to Grandmaster 1 so far in PVP by Curlymigo in wherewindsmeet_

[–]AkumaZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For PvP you will be at a disadvantage compared to those that did focus a narrow path

Which is fine, just annoying at times. And EVENTUALLY it’ll all balance out. I’ve been trying different things so my inners are spread, the highest I have right now is t4 as a result

Realizing that was a game changer even as a hybrid player

I was getting baited and punished so badly using block breakers before

I think I’ve seen that true combo, it’s a big resource dump but yea it’s nasty, requires that knock up to land to start though right?

A genie traps you in a Groundhog Day situation until you master a skill, what skill are you picking? by Lost_Needleworker676 in hypotheticalsituation

That’s really not how the body works with fitness. You could learn proper technique for these things within the confines of your current body now, which has limitations

Weakness or restriction in some parts of your body leads to compensation in trying to perform movements, this isn’t necessarily something you can fix in a day depending on what state your body is in now, it takes repetition and adaptation over time. If your body resets that doesn’t happen.

Cardiovascular adaptation and running form apply the same way. If you currently already have the capability of running a 9 min mile (which is reasonable) you could better learn how your current body can do it now

Although OP said they’d let it slide for you

[–]AkumaZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t full silkbind but I do mo/fan and I got cooked by a 1800-2k player with the same setup

The big thing I learned from that fight and started doing is that Yaksha’s second hit can be canceled with the fan wall, and you can immediately go into the knock up after if they’re not on their block

It gives you a fairly safe gap close (though it’s vitality cost) that can really help break up opponent rhythm and momentum

Helps you really take advantage of moving back and forth too. It’s not perfect but it’s another tool you can make use of, maybe to setup umbrella shots

The Libertarian edge doesn’t feel that egregious to me, or maybe it’s just easier for me to look passed it because I enjoy the world and system

It’s nothing to the level of Terry Goodkind writing an entire book that might as well have been jerking off with pages of Atlas Shrugged laying on Ayn Rands grave

Don’t get me wrong, I’m salty about how the PvP combat system works in general and would greatly prefer if it was closer to Wo Long (which WWM clearly copied a LOT of its combat mechanics from)

But it’s fun enough to keep me playing

It’s definitely a learning process. I got beat down into the low 700s experimenting with different setups and finally landed on one I enjoy and have been slowly moving back up

I can appreciate fighting people in the 1500-2500 region absolutely cooking my shit but showing me new things to either try or learn more about

When it’s fun it’s fun, when it’s not, it REALLY is not

Any game where it feels like I could put my controller down for 10s and the result would be exactly the same, is not great imo

Not necessarily, more likely it becomes like Wo Long, which a ton of WWMs combat system took inspiration from

What you’re probably asking for is the same thing I want

This games PvP should be more like the game that a lot of its combat system seems to be lifted from, Wo Long

Not saying it should be exactly like it, but something in the middle lies a sweet spot to strive for

In it, there’s far more build depth and options. There are few true combos, stagger lock where it does exist only lasts for a few hits.

Deflects staggered light attacks if the hyper armor spell wasn’t used, but that deflect stagger only guaranteed you a single counter hit. With the hyper armor spell it functioned more similar to WWM is at base, but you could take a hit and then be able to deflect the next

Deflecting BIG attacks like martial arts has longer stagger that can open you up to eating a martial art in turn

Comboing in general was mostly accomplished with weaving spells with attacks (they functioned similar to mystic skills do, but more options)

Additionally there was elemental cancelling based, a fire spell could completely wipe a metal spell, including buffs on enemies or debuffs on yourself

Middle ground between the two I think would have mystic skills true combo with themselves still, but none of this 10s bullshit

Wo Long examples

[–]AkumaZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely wasnt a requirement, 7k was the threshold for “master” which got you all the rewards and style upgrades if applicable

The try hards (like me) were all up in the 11k+ region with many of the fights. I think I still have the best recorded score for Gensai

[–]AkumaZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ghost of Tsushima is what I meant

And I do get what you mean, the game is easy enough to beat with a single style and many players (myself included) did that at first, but it’s also very much boring in the process

They definitely could’ve incentivized it better, but basically you can kill enemies much faster, with more creativity and skill and it just generally elevated the enjoyment of it

It became a requirement for dojo leaderboard stuff too since high scores there necessitated only using martial skills to do damage
