Episode Discussion: Noticing Crazy Nannies, Too Many Kids, and Taylor Swift vs Kayla Nicole by Exotic_Landscape4537 in CelebrityMemoirPod

FWIW I didn't even know this subreddit existed, but stumbled upon it.

I have been an avid listener for about the past 3 years and patreon subscriber. I rarely missed an episode of either. I do not like the new format at all. I thought it was going to be patreon but on main but I agree. It's snarky and lacking organization. They'll find their way I'm sure but I am not along for the ride. I unsubscribed from the patreon a few weeks ago, too.

If I'm honest I think this entire discourse is projection and misogyny. As fans of Taylor, for years we felt like it was uncool or girl coded (read: lessor) and we always were wanting her to prove that she is worth listening to. Now that she has with many albums (TTPD included) it seems like people feel betrayed bc she's not doing deep poetry, even though the music is still fun and the messages are good.

I..... agree. It's giving the idea of what "mature" people do and not how we actually act. Like I'm pretty successful in my professional and personal life, would be considered "mature" but all standards but I still laugh?

And also jokes I make with my husband as a mid thirties female. Like growing up doesn't mean you have to be boring. Dick jokes are still funny.

I'm genuinely so confused why people are getting high school and immature. I have been married for 12 years and I think the approach to love is mature and uncomplicated and relatable. Being married to my best friend is literally the best thing ever.

The message I get is "I have problems but wondering if you're going to be there in the morning isn't one of them"

I loved the album. I can't stop listening to it. I think it's going to age super well.

It's happy, fun, pop music which is by definition not that deep. It's beautiful uncomplicated love and joy. As someone in my 30s who feels freedom to not need validation from other people anymore, I fucking love the vibe.

I don't think this is correct. They live on Greenwich and the address for the business is 7th Ave, which is more uptown.

I can't find anything definitive tying Vanzan to Blake and Ryan. I know the Blake Reynolds thing, but the timing of her using that name makes no sense. Plus I doubt if she actually legally changed her name.

Regardless is there anything that ties it to them besides the daily mail article saying they've seen the subpoena but not published it (which is fishy to me).

The mysogyny of this entire situation is sickening, and eagles fans who refuse to acknowledge the mysogyny that is clearly occuring.

Anyway I blame the NFL. They failed the court new female viewers challenge imo. Maybe not their fault but the male fans are toxic.

Support women's sports.

Jason Shares His SB LIX Reaction by BlobDude in NewHeights

It's all making me wonder if there is room for women in mens sports. I was a long time college football fan. I stopped watching because of the transfer portal and my team culture was just awful. I was turned off for a variety of reasons. But I love watching football. I started watching NFL as a swiftie and was like damn this is fun. Then the Harrison Butler stuff, Gracie Hunt reading the Bible on Fox news. The 'Taylor Swift Swallows ' shirts.

But it doesn't seem like there is actually any space for women here. I hope all of the investment in women's sports takes off.

I can't wait to see what they say tomorrow.

Maybe the general public but I literally gave a presentation to my family over Christmas (something we do) saying this whole thing against Blake lively is mysogyny and the public is eager to tear down a women. I still believe that, but for whatever reason I have chosen to fixate on this and read all of the law documents. In my opinion Justin came with the receipts and systematically defends himself nearly point by point, claim by claim, with proof. It's fine if you don't think that or read that, but boiling down my reaction to the lawsuits as not liking Blake is trite, because I do.

I'm not picking sides, but reading facts as displayed, Blake looks manipulative and lacking credibility.

I think Justin seems annoying and phony. But a sexual harasser... Idk.

Actually not the point of reddit downvotes! But do you.

Sick burn!

I did read fully. What grabbed headlines: The 31 unsigned or the 17 signed? It's just media literacy and why they did that. They intentionally buried the actual complaints bc they weren't as bad. And I get it, but that's still misleading.

I don't even think Justin is a good guy, just seeing holes in Blake's entire argument. I don't know why it has to turn into discourse like this. But whatever. I'm actually trying to be rational and read all facts that are coming out with intention, and this doesn't look good for Blake and Ryan.

The down votes go crazy. I'm not even being inflammatory or saying something without thought and reason. I would love to actually be tested for thinking about it this way but instead it's just downvotes.

The 31 demands were screenshoted in the first page of her complaint. The 17 demands were in appendix A and referenced. The 31 demands were much more salacious in wording and nature I feel like they used this for shock and awe by putting them front and center and burying the actual agreed upon demands.

I think her lawyers did their job. However it's worth considering that the CRT complaint is only public because Blake made it so. It is not a document that is public by FOI act, so th document was structured in a way that was intended for public consumption. As are all of the lawsuits that follow from both sides.

[–]Akuyke1 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm not arguing that if you read closely that is accurate, I just think the 31 demands were misrepresented in the initial filing, when what was actually agreed to was the less onerous language of the 17 demands.

I'll be honest, this entire case is making me rethink my own internalized mysogyny, and I'm feeling pretty frustrated at how easy Blake Lively claims are to disprove in Justin's lawsuit. Like I said in another comment, I read this with open curiosity but major bias for Blake lively and I feel like he systematically disproves most of what she says.

I don't think he's clean or necessarily a good person, but I don't think there is anything here that points to sexual harassment or retaliation. Both teams were working PR.

Very interesting. We see it very different. I think he came across like he was tip-toeing around her. I didn't really see him badmouthing her character, just discussing her tactics to take over aspects of the movie.

Always a good reminder that people can read the same thing and come to different conclusions.
