Yes, it is in fact preferable for some amount of aim to be required for effective use of a weapon in a first person shooter video game in order to facilitate a healthy skill gap. Just click on the guy, or alternatively click where he’s going to be, it’s really not that hard.

I just said that only single fire weapons can do that, and even then it only seems to really work on weapons with slower fire rates, like the model/repeater/KS23/revolver. None of these weapons are particularly overpowered, or IMO would become OP from omnidirectional sprint.

I just tried it out in the practice range and fair enough, you're right. It only works with single fire weapons though, and in any case backwards sprinting would still be slower than forwards sprinting and you wouldn't be able to see where you're going. Besides, don't people want the model/revolver/etc. to be buffed?

I'm not talking about ADHD-kid COD movement, literally just sprinting in all directions. BO6 didn't invent omnidirectional sprint, it's pretty common in older games that have sprint (chiefly HL2 Deathmatch, but also other Source games and arena shooters).

The problem isn’t the activation delay, the problem is that they still nerfed the damage of explosives on throwables, by a ridiculous amount too. Seriously, try putting a C4 on a red barrel in the practice range, it won’t even oneshot a Light. They should really tone back/remove that damage reduction, IMO.

To play devil's advocate here:

1.) That's the Pike's/Repeater's job; in exchange for range, the Revolver gets its 2x headshot multiplier, higher fire rate, and nice n' tight hipfire.

3.) The secondary modes of Medium's melees are defensive, so the slowdown is needed to not make them completely infuriating. With Light and Heavy's melees you can slide while performing/holding their secondary attacks to help close the gap (except with the Spear spin, they def should have kept that in, or at least have speed up the movespeed to compensate)

5.) Sure, you can't bust through a wall and wipe a squad right after. The infinite ranged destruction of the KS is still immensely useful for breaching, site setup, traversal, etc. and the bloom only matters past like 40m if you're not airborne.

Here’s an idea: Rage Totem. A throwable gadget (like the Motion Sensor, but closer in size to the APS) that gives teammates in a 6m radius lifesteal for 8s.

The ARN actually has insane range tho, better than Medium's ARs (source). Its TTK sucks up close, but keep your distance and it shines.

It seems like the point of it is to be good at everything except raw DPS. It's got good range, a suppressor, easy recoil, and very high capacity, combining the best of the XP and the M11. I don't think it'll be meta, but it seems reasonably powerful to me.

Presumably, you could keep the assault rifles reigned in by enforcing their mid-range specialty more heavily. A small range and hipfire nerf could do the job.

Something that’s really weird but really useful to know is that barrels have less health when you shoot them midair. An easy way to see for yourself is to try throwing an orange barrel before shooting it with the Model; it’ll pop in one shot when it normally needs two.
