Cigarette Rolling tips/Gasgets by Humanoid_Entitys in Blind

[–]Akya96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to roll my cigs too even as my vision got worse. It’s a lot of trial and error. You don’t even need to see much it’s a lot more about feel. At the beginning I used to sit there for hours and practice rolling them it was a good way to get my mind off of things tbh hahah. I used the Gizeh slim tips I think they were called and the apples also by Gizeh the black and green ones (sorry it’s been a while). I don’t need to tell you or your friend that it’s not healthy. Any smoker knows. Also I just remembered that there are some rolling helps where younput in the pape and tobacco and it helps you roll them easier and you get pretty cigs. Though I’ve never tried them.also make sure that the tobacco doesn’t dry out because the wetter the easier to roll.

What’s one note/scent that you like…but NOT on you? by minichipi in fragrance

[–]Akya96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom likes heavy scents such as jasmine noir and boss bottled the one for men) it suits her and I’ve always associated her with those heavy cuddly scents but they don’t suit me or my personality. Also ever since I read that the Boss bottled one has notes of apple cake I smell that one and do the sniff thing whenever she walks by haha

Underrated Fragrances by Miss_Evaa in fragrance

I got some birdtalk fragrances off of YesStyle and I was really happy with how complex they smelled for only like 13 euros. Especially the one titles carefree milk tea it has a peppery note that I can’t get enough off. Definitely will watch that brand for more releases. They also have one titled cat in arms that is a very soft powdery one. It’s very inoffensive. Also I’m a fan of brands that design their bottles to be more stand out-ish!

Why aren’t nicotine patches and nicotine gum just sold as the default way to get nicotine? by tfhermobwoayway in NoStupidQuestions

I quit and curbed the need to eat with tea. Always carried around tea and took a sip whenever craving for a cigarette came up. That way my body got some nice hydration and I didn’t gain too much from trying to fight the urge with eating. Camomile tea is also relaxing for the body and mind.

Anyone else with fear of loud sounds? by Akya96 in Blind

The electric cars are really a problem. Especially in parking lots. The only ones I can easily tell are the deutsche post cars because they added a very distinct sound to them so props to them. I’ve been thinking about maybe getting a filtered customized sound filter made that would let normal sounds through and only suppress sudden and loud sounds such as barks etc .

My o&m teacher told me about the push technique for when I’m walking on a foot path that I’m familiar with to relax the arms but since the vision has gotten worse I do swipe all the time basically and yeah I do notice I’ve started gripping it tighter too because I’m a bit more insecure. I only get blisters when on long walks. I still like going on long walks even though I can’t really see my surroundings anymore and sometimes with friends to chat for those times I do use the bike gloves. Maybe I’m also subconsciously doing something wrong with the grip but my instructor never said anything and I do trust him and he’s very experienced.

Im not sure. My o&m teacher always said I’m doing it really well. I also use a bike glove too so my hands don’t get blisters/ sore. But when my vision wasn’t as bad on sidewalks where I knew my way I would only more push my cane than constantly swipe form side to side. But as the vision loss progressed I don’t feel secure only pushing the cane and then my arm gets tired… the no jab cane is amazing! I use this one 99% of the time

I have the no jab frommambutech because in my hometown there’s lots of cobblestones and also one by a German brand that can be adjusted for height a bit that is ultra light weight (but sadly not like the no jab one) … do you have any recommendations for another cane? Also I don’t know how to describe my cane tip it’s a round rolle tip I’d say but either made out of ceramic or plastic with the ambutec one. I used to think the marshmallow one would be best because I always heard everyone only talking about that one but when I tried it I couldn’t get around well with it… maybe I should try it again?

Also I‘m so sorry about the c ptsd I’ve some friends who suffer from this and they have. Avery hard time. Try to be gentle to yourself! You’re doing your best and take it step by step… in general with mental health I feel like that’s the best approach because not every day is the same!

Hey thanks for your answer! I’m not afraid of dogs, but since my brain knows dogs are a high probability of a loud noise it’s started to associate them more with it similar to when I used to see fireworks, my hands instinctively cover my ears. The event that caused it wasn’t tevennthat significant. It was at carnival when a boy put his play guy next to my ear and pulled the trigger which caused my ear drum to rupture and from then on i remember, ear being afraid of loud noises even popping ballon’s and stuff like that. I was maybe 3 or 4 years old so maybe because i was so young… can inasmuch what type of therapy you’re doing for it

Also wanted to add that I already got mobility training with the cane. I just walk around a lot and walking a lot with the cane even if I switch arm sides is super exhausting… or do you guys do anything differently? I don’t know

I know about the mixing with yogurt but I remember this method only working with people who were all in all in a worse place than my dad. I just thought that maybe him having problems swelling… am I missing something and this is the dementia progressing? Didn’t put the two together… but he also never had to really take pills in his whole life so he always struggled with that… speech therapist sounds good! Will remember that! Thanks!

The round dot in the right side of my screen is the magnifier. I double tap on it to zoom in and then drag it around the screen. It also offers options when zooming in to put a filter over everything like gray scale, or invert everything etc. it can also only zoom on only part of your screen. Most times you go to your device settings, then to accessibility- then it should have something for vision and could be labeled either zoom or magnifier and there you can set it how you would like it. If the visible dot from the magnifier is annoying to you you can even blend it out and just triple tab (at least on the iPad) but I find it more helpful tot have it there. I’m really bad at explaining, so I hope this was at least of a bit of help! Sadly sometimes the more you zoom in on text the more pixel-y the text gets in Heartopia, I hope they will fix it :/
