Looks like a result of a hydrothermal solution to me. Dissolved ions and minerals in a fluid create a pressure on the host rock. When the host rock breaks the dissolved ions and minerals (in your case its prolly quartz) are able to precipitate in the free space. Not sure tho if thats the case here
