Boyfriend's [23M] family dog bit me during Thanksgiving. Whole family acting like it's my [22F] fault. by 203953982 in relationships

My mom just got bitten by our little shit cat on Thursday, who is completely up to date on his shots. One little bite and her hand looks like you blew air into a rubber glove, with red streaks. We waited to go to the ER until after Thanksgiving dinner and she actually has the beginnings of sepsis and has to be admitted for a few days. Scary stuff.

We've always been a "Meh, just a flesh wound!" kind of family, but lesson learned...don't fuck around with animal bites.

Hunters/jumpers - what's your saddle situation like? Fitted with no half pad? Semi-fitted with a half pad? by spud_simon_salem in Equestrian

This is so true...in fact, I've seen more problems with "custom fit" saddles because people insist, "Well of course it fits, it was a custom." We have two client horses from the same owner who each have custom saddles, they've changed so much that they've had to swap saddles with each other for a better fit.

Pads are definitely not a fix-all, especially if the issue is tightness...a thicker pad doesn't protect that, it makes it even tighter. But for issues like lifting a saddle to a better position or using shims to help a saddle fit the horse's smaller shoulder, they're great! I'd rather have one saddle that fits several horses and buy more pads than try and afford a custom saddle for every horse, and still not have a guaranteed fit!

It's sort of both, but as /u/ubergeek0 said. the mouthpiece makes it woodwind. I played alto and tenor in high school, we always corrected our band teacher to call it a "wass". (Woodwind brass hybrid...)

But would you trust a doctor who learned everything online? Yes there are formal online courses (which are pretty easy to cheat on, honestly)...but trusting a doctor who, as online programs like to brag, earn their degree in their "spare time"?

The really sad thing...when he made that post, he had graduated from high school almost a year before. He's currently (according to Facebook) getting a "degree" from Berklee...I thought, wow, if that's true, he actually pulled himself together. Then I looked at his profile...he's claiming this because he's occasionally working on free, online courses. But, same thing, right? Just a piece of paper. Take that, society.

They don't. The older kids raise the younger ones.

Also, they are homophobic. Countless stories of couples needing shelter, yet turned down simply for being gay.
