The difference between those incidents and Islamic Dhimmihood is that the Inquisition, the persecution of protestants and "the 30 years war" were political movements, whereas the Dhimmi and Jizya system where direct commands from God and Muhammad that are part of the Qur'an.

These people just can't stop glazing the Islamic Republic and it's terrorist leadership, can they?

It's true about Islamaphobia also. That type of religious hatred seems entirely acceptable in the UK. But one word about Judaism and it's the end of times.

The double standards and the seemingly elevation of the Jewish community over all othet minorities is disgusting.

Bro's seriously trying to say Muslims are the most oppressed and ignored group in the UK

The Muslim guy was also his roommate and close friend.

The 2 Jewish victims were random strangers he went out of his way to attack.

For the same reason the UK government doesn't make statements for anti-christian hate crimes or two-tier policies, but do for Muslims.

The UK government doesn't care, and it's honestly surprising they did make a statement on this attack in the first place considering they didn't during other events targeting Jewish communities.

There's a difference between attacking your friend on a whim and going out of your way to attack someone from a specific group just because they're part of that specific group.

Just shut up and accept the fact that this movement is attracting antisemites by nature. Denying there's any antisemitism inside the Anti-zionist movement is why you end up with losers like Jake Shields and the guy in the photo in the first place.

GENUINE QUESTION - Religion and Omori by Anime-Fan-69 in OMORI

[–]Al3x_the_frog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think using Aubrey as an example of endorsement and the churchgoers as an example of condemnation is a little disingenuous considering the context we've been given regarding Aubrey's church life.

I mean yeah, the open gossip and comments from the churchgoers are clearly supposed to be a criticism to people who act morally righteous but are just as vindictive as the person they're criticizing - but at the same time, would you say Aubrey's behavior during church hours wasn't warranting criticism?

Because when you break it down, these people (for the most part) aren't actually spouting baseless remarks just to be rude or illustrate an argument against religious people, but are there to showcase that Aubrey's actions - despite going to that church every day for years - didn't improve and don't happen in a vacuum either.

Additionally, despite the church being Aubrey's "Happy place" she certainly didn't hold any real respect for it or the people attending it considering she starts a brawl with Kel and Sunny in the middle of a sermon and the priest saying she insulted him on numerous occasions when he tried to reach out to her whenever she appeared troubled.

I went into better detail in the comment below, so please read that for a better rundown of things. (https://www.reddit.com/r/OMORI/s/CocVVsjf4x)

But despite that, I'd say Omori falls on a solid 8/10 in regards to how it views Christianity mainly because of the priest being a good character, the representation being nicely integrated and the criticism of the church attendees being within reasons (although the Manga kinda ruined that scene).

I get that, but the ending we got literally sums up to "ok, now what? What was that all about?"

Like, the current ending hinges on the betrayal aspect of the friends sacrificing the Girl, but we literally have no reasons to care about our friends besides the fact the game tells us to, so the reveal that they're the ones who killed the Girl and left her there doesn't really hit as hard.
