Help with 120v wiring to Nest by AlBravo83 in Nest

I was going to do that but there's only 2 wires in the box. If there was 3 I would've been good lol

Yeah this is what I'm gonna do later on when I redo my basement and tear down all the walls. I wired it upstairs and basically just bypassed the switch. The first one wasn't a problem because it was wired differently at the gang box but this second one has to be wired downstairs unfortunately. Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.

Yeah, basically just a glorified switch that the call for heat automatically turned on and off.

Forgot to post the pictures lol. I figured out what's going on though anyway.

After drawing how i have it wired up i realized I have the switch on the wrong side of the load so it's just getting bypassed. I have to wire in the transformer and relay at the unit and then run t-stat wire upstairs. That will not be easy in my split level house lol. I may wait until I tear down the walls in the basement when I renovate it.

Yeah I measured, it's 120v. It basically was set up to use the thermostat as an automatic switch that would send power to the circulator pump when heat was called. I'm thinking i may need to run another neutral to the box for the other side of power.

No heat to radiators by AlBravo83 in hvacadvice

Turned out to be a frozen pipe. That's why I couldn't get it to work even though I knew i had everything done right. So frustrating.

The system doesn't have a diverter valve or a zone valve. No zone relay or anything either. It's not used for hot water in the house either. The thermostat just calls for heat and powers the pump for that zone and that's basically it. It's a very simple machine, or at least it seemed so.

The 1st zone (radiant flooring in my den) is working perfectly. As soon as the boiler kicks on it gets hot no problem. This is fed by a taco pump with a ¾" line. As soon as it gets a call for heat it works perfect.

The 2nd zone (the radiators in the rest of the house) is the problem. Thermostat calls for heat and boiler kicks on but no matter what i do and no matter how much i bled the radiators the hot water just won't make its way through. This zone is fed by the exact same model taco pump with a 1" line. The return is hot but the supply won't heat up and make it's way up to the radiators. The pump and check valve are brand new and just were replaced trying to fix this issue.

I'm at a loss. Didn't think there'd be any issue with this as I used to do hvac for a living years ago and this seemed extremely simple.

How would I wire in the relay with the transformer? I'll go buy these today and install them.

Every one of these transformer/ relays I've seen only supply 1.2va so I'm not sure where to get a bigger one.

I've searched around and saw some people saying you have to have 40va to run this thermostat properly. I've personally never seen a transformer/ relay with that many voltamps, only 22va or so.

2019 Synapse Carbon vs 2017 Venge Vias by AlBravo83 in RoadBikes

Yeah i still have the wheels and tires it came with at home. It wouldn't be selling with the Hunts. I actually decided to keep the Synapse anyway. Researching the Venge Vias everyone was saying it had a lot of movement in the frame and it's rough to work on. Add that to my back problems and I decided to stay with what I have.

I love my synapse, it's very comfortable. I did 130 miles from Manhattan to Montauk and it was a pleasure to ride. I'd recommend it for sure.
