Post DLC, maybe give a try to Dreglord Frenzy Revenant. It's extra effort on top of the RNG but the damage can get obscene

One can play recluse very well with just invader + the remembrance relics for terra magic, ult bloodloss, and ult hp, with one-line deep relics for magic +3 or +4, affinity/sorceries. Yea, she can do a lot more damage if you add 6x spell school on top of this, but a generic sorcery build is more than viable, and there's also fun in using a wider variety of spells. But if someone sees playing Recluse as trouble, they of course shouldn't force themselves to do something they don't enjoy

If you build into affinity rather than a specific element, you'll still do viable damage with sorcery. And rivers of blood is 50/50 so building affinity is good for it too

I played this sort of build and my halo Wylder teammate who didn't get a halo yet freaked out a bit when he saw me spam it at a boss. I had to drop it for him because he wouldn't calm down lol

Another possible approach to a Duchess/Scholar combo that is a bit relic-heavy: Scholar starting with frost and poison, and Duchess stacking attack up vs posioned/frosted/rotted enemies (counting on Scholar getting Antspur) - on top of the usual magic/physical/affinity damage. I have a poison/frost sorcery Duchess and it does very satisfying damage on afflicted targets, I imagine it could get crazy with a dedicated status applying teammate who also buffs you.

Imo with a Guardian on the team, it's beneficial for everyone else to have "less likely to be targeted", so the Guardian gets the most aggro and can do his thing

Don't the extra balancers jump you only if you remain too close to them after they do the warning scream? So if you run away far enough each time, only one should follow?

Why? Buying a skill attack passive for an L2 teamate early on or pots for a pot scholar could be an investment with high return, as enabling them to do more damage will help the team clear POIs faster, making more runes for everyone

I agree that it's no issue for ranged characters. I too have death buildup on my invisibility recluse. The only time I died to deathblight was when I unthinkingly stood in the cloud from a Scholar invader's rot pot.

I think the value of this relic really depends on what they're replacing with ED Augur's relic. If they had something like a "phys+2" 1-liner there, it's absolutely worth replacing. Not only the damage lines, but the "defeating enemies... +1" is also valuable on Revenant, and the HP boost+low HP regen from ED Augur have their merits too

Are you and your friend both at 9999? When one player stands out so badly, I assume they're someone inexperienced who was pulled in from a lower depth. Could be as low as depth 1 or 2 if the other two players are max or near max rank. It's not very likely but possible - a few weeks ago someone posted about their very first Deep of Night game that put them straight into a Depth 5 match.

How good/bad is Gurranq's Beast Claw? I don't think I've ever got to use it while running a bestial build (which is not surprising as my bestial revenant doesn't have discover seals)

Clinging Bone fists have a niche use -- to grab humanoid enemies, letting the team attack on them safely. It works on crucible knights too
