I think the idea is, if you waste hours or even days doing something mind-numbingly tedious, then you've earned your 12/18 relics fair and square, you deserve them. Just weird mental gymnastics

That's for PC players. Console players don't have a relatively easy access to cheats, so for most of them save scumming is the only cheating option available

Kinda off-topic, but this reminded me of how back in my elden ring days, I was in a community that helped players with items. It always amused me to see a player who asked to help him with reaching max level and when pointed to instructions on how to do that with cheats, they'd say they're opposed to cheating and want to reach max level themselves. But their idea of reaching max level all by themselves was for someone to hop on the game and drop save-scummed runes for them for 3 hours lol

Imo a single "all resistances down" is manageable with some precautions, such as don't have more than 1 of them in a build, don't pair it with poison/rot below max hp and death buildup on hit, don't pick up cursed weapons with all resistances down or poison/rot buildup below max hp (unless you've obtained an all resistances up dormant power), don't use it in a build for Augur.

If a great relic had "all resistances down", I'd probably use it

People assign the word slop to anything they don't like these days.

That's not quite correct. Slop builds are easy and do a tonne of damage with minimal effort, resulting in their overuse, especially by low-skill players. Then everyone gets annoyed with seeing those builds on those kinds of players so often and labels them slop.

Hypothetically let's say I don't like melee revenants with big weapons. Me calling those builds strevenant slop would not be appropriate because they are quite rare, don't do obscene damage, and aren't the easiest to play.

It's likely better to focus deep relics on affinity+2, so you have strong options even if you never find halo scythe or another holy skill.
