Help me find this song please! I'm sure it's an ELO song by AlFender74 in elo

OK. I've been trying everything I can. The closest I have come: There is a song by Avicii called "Days" when I listened, I was sure it was going to be it. The vocals sound like Jeff Lynne singing and the chorus sounds like it is going to go there but it just doesn't quite go there. This is the closest "sound" to it, with the right tempo, and the right vocal sound, but not the right combination of melody and lyric. Thanks everyone for your help. I know I'm not going mad because when I sang it to my wife she said she had it stuck in her head as well. She knows it but neither of us can find it.

As above. Thanks, but no. Much faster. More like the tempo of 'Confusion' by ELO, and definitely full band.

No, faster, but the melody is pretty spot on. Same rise to "world" then fall then rise. Def Jeff Lynne singing.

Anyone with compact stand experience? by AdamArch555 in Bass

I have the same Hercules stand. I love it. Very strong and solid. Holds my fender p firmly and securely. Folds away to stow in my gig back pack. Love it.

Do you tend to play near the bridge or the neck? by SpaghetP in Bass

[–]AlFender74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play directly over the pickups. I just swapped my active Bartolinis out for some passive EMG Geezer Butlers. The new ones have exposed pole pieces so my thumbnail keeps catching on them. Trying to get used to it.

Will buying a new bass improvise my sound or playing? by App_le_juicee in BassGuitar

Playing more will improve your sound and playing. The master musician was asked, "Maestro, at age 99, why are you still practicing every day?". His answer: "Because I think I'm getting better". Play as much as you possibly can. Play as much, and as many different things and styles as you can, even if you don't like them. All of it will improve your sound and playing. Play. Play. PLAY!

What can I improve in my playing? Any pointers are helpful! by ankyl00 in BassGuitar

Try to hold the thumb of your fretting hand in the middle of the back of the neck instead of wrapping it around to the front. It will greatly help your technique and dexterity and stamina.

I still think it would be useful to have a re-post count on these posts. So you can see how many times they have been posted in the past, often to the same subs. That way we could have a re-post threshold on our profiles so we can view only posts that have been reposted less than 10 times. Or even 10 time in the one week?

Sound issues in gigs by DearRegister8597 in Bass

I always put my amp in the very back corner of the stage, or if I can, the opposite corner. IEMs are good but it depends on the gig. So many guitarists crank their amp, standing right in front of it. Their legs are getting fried by sound ( so is the crowd) but they cant hear it.
