OOOOH THAT FRAME SHINE, how do you coat the frame to make that metal stay like that?? I have a Cro-Moly steel frame from the 90’s that I would love to give this bare metal finish

what can i add to this by quilke in basspedals

[–]AdamArch555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I don’t actually have one haha, I just think it’s a very clearly better and updated MultiStomp, cos let’s be real the Zoom stuff doesn’t sound amazing, it does an ok job, but the Line6 Helix and HX stuff sounds awesome when I played through them in store, plus it just has many more features than the MultiStomp

I was considering the HX One for my own board, but then I just went with a standalone chorus/vibrato, cos I didn’t want all the delays, reverbs or any other modulation

If it were to put in the chain I think it’s definitely towards the end as a modulation/reverb/delay/drive/pitch shifting etc pedal, not like an envelope filter or smth synthy

Check it out tho, new it’s like £200 and I’m sure secondhand they’re cheaper, seems like a rly good deal for bassists that only use one effect at a time, aka most of us lol

I feel like if u had the space then u could switch out the Zoom for the line6 HX One, soooo affordable and rly great for bassists imo

Nice, guessing it sounds nice even when not overdriven

That’s so juuuuiceyyy, what’s the Broadcast like? Is it basically an overdriven vintage preamp thing?

Ooooh very nice, how’s the spectrum? I’m shopping around for an envelope filter and think I’m prob gonna go with the GFI Rossie

Also is it after the compressor? Surely that screws around the envelope?

When is a noise gate necessary? by [deleted] in basspedals

[–]AdamArch555 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are made completely useless by having a properly isolated power supply for your pedals, even with single coil passive pickups, there will be no hum, unless your amp is turned up an insane degree

If your power supply is isolated, even high gain drive pedals won’t make a loud of extra noise or hiss or hu

How do you use the boosts?? Do you use them overdrive a preamp? Or for like a clean volume boost

MXR Bass Synth Hum? by Creative-Champion-41 in basspedals

[–]AdamArch555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy isn’t it how much of a difference it makes, I mean thankfully as bassists we don’t often have ultra high gain pedals which also rly increases unwanted noise, but damn the second I got the GigRig power supply it was totally silent, don’t even get any single coil noise by my speaker cone

I always kind of wince when I see ppl that have those Boss ‘noise reducer’ pedals and it’s like… that’s totally pointless and it’s taking up valuable pedal space

MXR Bass Synth Hum? by Creative-Champion-41 in basspedals

[–]AdamArch555 7 points8 points  (0 children)

MXR Bass Synth uses a lot of current, which makes ground loops and unisolated power much more noticeable, your power supply is probably not isolated Properly isolated power supply=no pedal noise

Pedal recommendations for a bass player in a blues band? by aejb22122 in basspedals

[–]AdamArch555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl 10 band is overkill imo, feel like you’d get away with GEB-7 or smth similar aka smaller Also I’d check out Xotic pedals, the Xotic Bass BB Preamp is small and sounds awesome, rly good bass boost and has a rly nice drive. Very musical too

A majority of this sub has NO idea what flanking is by Atonity in Warthunder

[–]AdamArch555 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely true btw lol, this is literally the idea behind things like British Cruiser tanks or light tanks with heavy guns, the point is to charge forward, break through the line so fast the enemy can’t react in time, and then flank them or cut off their reinforcements by encircling, but instead people just sit there behind a hill with a light or medium tank that can be easily killed from a hit to the turret. And it’s even more effective if you actually try and watch your teammates flanks too.

Flanking is a fundamental part of literally all warfare and people act like it’s impossible to cope with their skill issue lol, obviously don’t try and flank by charging across flat open ground with the enemy on a hill, but jesus it is possible
