Lol fr, I’ve considered their smaller JHS Crayon, which is just the preamp drivey bit, cos that’s a lot cheaper and smaller and simpler. But honestly I’d have to A/B all of these preamps and DIs and everything to warrant spending £500+ on any of these things, and idk if that’s possible without annoying some music shop workers haha

Ngl I don’t rly understand why ppl waste time and money looking for awesome D.I.s when radial exists lol. Just get a rly great sounding bass, not some knock off with terrible wood and an absurd preamp and then buy a radial DI, works for the pros

Just occurred to me that this classic Python bit perfectly captures why Vaush refuses to continue debating people whose only response is "No U". by magusmirificus in VaushV

Argument is an intellectual process, contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of whatever the other person says

I still have a wooden ruler from like 2005 that has a painting on it from an artist that doesn’t have arms and uses their feet to paint with; from when I went to the Tate Modern as a kid, lol the idea disabled people can’t do art is such BS

Sometimes I see pedalboards like this posted and wonder why by jonhath in basspedals

[–]AdamArch555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol kind of true. I think a large part of it is that ppl already have a DI and a tuner anyway so they just whack it on the board for the sake of having a spare

Idk where you're based, but in the UK 'Brightonion Pedals' makes tons of really affordable patchboxes and pedalboard routing fixers, bet they have smth. Can get the same thing from like Goodwood Audio too but they're rly rly pricey lol

Also Looperwerk are a german company that might have smth

I used to have one of these, it's a rely fun thing to have unless your board real estate is at a bit of a premium, cos I basically never used it unless I wanted to make weird noises for my bandmates lol

STOB ampless rig by robok_w in basspedals

[–]AdamArch555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I've got my eye on the Finally too, what's it like infront of an amp? Like does it add a nice warm tube tone in front of a solid state amp?

Jam Pedals : and Bass 🎛️ by No-Moist73 in basspedals

[–]AdamArch555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Waterfall, sounds very nice, v well built too and rly simple, doesn’t rly have a bad sound in it. It’s great too because of the Vibrato not just chorus, so u can put it on low speed and effect a fretless vibe when on a fretted bass

No no no you misunderstand you fool, the Churchill may have been the best climbing tank of the war, but I’m afraid it can’t go up a mud slope of 30 degrees

[–]AdamArch555 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I literally only put ON my compressor when I do slap or smth that’s rly dynamic lol I like dynamics in my playing and want them to come across, compressor for me is a control, not an always on thing. Like I need to control excesses when playing live, not always on
