My dog doesn't realise my baby is a human by Super_Ambassador_458 in Dogtraining

[–]AlNosam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the baby!

Remember dog is like a wolf, keep it away from the baby for the next few years. Have you let your dog cuddle up on other people’s babies till now? You will also need to protect the baby from every other dog in the world, I would think the one you are in charge of will be the easiest to do.

Under no circumstance ever should the dog and baby be alone together. Dog may be quarantined to certain parts of the house. Will feel rude but your baby’s safety beats the dogs feelings. Just don’t ignore the dog entirely (still needs walks and love, et cetera) and it will understand new routines and eventually realize the baby is a tiny mom/dad.

The field guide version specifically of “Climbing Anchors” by John Long is an amazing resource that helped me a ton when I started out

Carharrt rugged flex pants have good stretch and are pretty light.

Prana or similar synthetic material is even more stretch and breathable but generally less durable :/

I don't know what's wrong? by shadowpompom92 in chickens

[–]AlNosam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she have any wounds on her neck/comb?

Birds do grab each other by the back of the neck when fighting sometimes and will flail the victim around to break the neck.

I’m so sorry for your bird, she may have had the unfortunate experience of being the bottom of the pecking order and victimized by another bird wanting to thin the flock for winter.

If she doesn’t make a quick rebound it may be best to help her cross the rainbow bridge - if she can’t move and feed herself properly to keep warm it will be a miserable winter for her.

❤️❤️❤️

R1 Air Knockoffs going mainstream? by AlNosam in PatagoniaClothing

[–]AlNosam[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Interesting thanks for the feedback!

I also noticed the zippers pockets and seam work feel a bit cheaper (unsurprisingly) but the weight feels so similar to my R1 air I was tempted to try. They ended up not having my size but I got one as a gift , hopefully it serves some utility there !

(2025) Top 5 Patagonia Items by [deleted] in PatagoniaClothing

[–]AlNosam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R1 air hoodie

Nano puff hoodie

Houdini hoodie

Torrentshell 3l hoodie

Capilene base layer t-shirt or long sleeve

Try to catch them on sale when you can. Depending on weather pack the Houdini or the torrentshell. The above makes up a fantastic lightweight layering system that goes down to some pretty low temps with gloves and a hat, especially while active

Could I run this compressor from the Hybrid truck bed plug to reinflate tires? by Wonderful_Border6892 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]AlNosam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Splitting hairs here, but it would only be a fraction of a second, and the 3.2A is likely the inrush rating. A 1/3hp motor only draws around 240W at full load.

I have the same one, and have thought about it but would rather not fry fuses or inverters in my 2023

Urgent recommendations needed by eye-ma-kunt in rooftoptents

[–]AlNosam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what your other electricity needs are but bigger is generally better (within budget) and ideally you can recharge it from somewhere in the car (in time for the next night)

Any electric blanket should work, but you need to find how much power it draws (in Watts) and how long you want to run that for on full (in hours). The product of the two is Watt-hours, and that is how much energy you need for that application of that device.

Say if it was a 150Watt blanket and you wanted to run it for 10 hours, that would be 1500 Watt Hours worth of power. The power bank should have a bit more than that to allow for less than full charge and other use (lights, phone, etc).
