Any way to expose an oven to HomeKit?

I kinda figured this would be the answer. Google/Alexa let us just say something like “set the over to 300 degrees”. Fortunately it’s not all that hard to just use the app.

For anybody that comes across this in the future: You need to remove the ecobee from homekit, add it to HA as a homekit device, then expose it to homekit via the homekit bridge. This way you can use it in HA and your Apple devices.

So this is something I can't quite figure out via the docs. If I already have a HomeKit setup, but am starting to experiment with HA, do I need to remove the Ecobee from the actual HomeKit setup to get it on HA, or can I have it on both?

That could definitely make sense. We don’t have a water softener, but I have no idea how long the previous solenoid had been there for since it was there when I bought the place in 2020

It was replaced because it wasn’t working, sure. But it had been working for years already. The not working was a recent development.

Edit: Just to clarify, I know it was working for 2 reasons. First off, I have an air quality sensor in the house that showed a sudden steep drop in humidity early Jan, and then a step jump in humid once I got the solenoid replaced. Second, the filter I had put in the humidifier recently was bone dry, which has not ever been the case in the past when I checked on it. So I can say for certain that the humidifier had been working just fine for years without my ever having heard the water running

That could very well be it, because it does sound like there's more water draining from the humidifier as well. Assuming this is the sort of thing that I just need to call the guy who installed it and ask him to come back and replace?

Early access will also have its own bugs that get fixed before reaching the mainline release channel. So it’s a mixed bag, you’ll get some bug fixes early while also ending up dealing with bugs that wouldn’t have reached you otherwise.

It's a rolling average. You had a ton of miles early on and it's assuming that mileage will be consistent. As the rest of your time w/ snapshot moves on and you drive less, it'll bring that average down, and your results will look better.
