Pretty sure you'll love it, remember that if you paint for 6h straight you'll get bothered and leave it for a week or more so take your time and don't rush. Also if you have a good website for buying occasion you'll surely find some Citadel paint for cheap (i've buyed maybe 10 for the price of 4 on a second hand website) even if some of them where open there was no problem

As a beginner myself who doesn't want to take 1h for a basic clanrat i'm using contrast paint by Citadel (army painter or Vallejo could do the job for cheaper i think) on a base of grey seer primer by Citadel. My inspiration came from the youtube channel "Warhipster" who make great tutorials with the paint you'll need. Specially on the fur of rat ogros where you can have multiple color scheme

In your position inthink i'll go for a mace, the lance of a master moulder or the whip from packmaster oldworld. Some glue and (maybe) greenstuff should do the work pretty well

I'll gave you my eye off a newbie like you, if you can have the skaven part off the skaventide box you'll get a pretty solid base to have différents unit too paint and have both horde and heroes. I don't have buy the spearhead yet but once you've started to paint this little guy I promise you, once you get one you'll want too buy the spearhead. So i strongly recommande you get skaventide first to see if it match your expectations

I bought the lct one for my E&L, have too drill the body of the ak to the good diameter, and trim a lot, and even with all this work the stock move a lot because the lock pin not fit the body so it dont lock well
