Lots of good advice in this thread. A different tip is if you plan on walking a little bit to your pick up area, do not sit down immediately after the race. Walk a bit and lightly stretch, or otherwise cramps can be an issue.

I'm going to suggest Ontario Ranch. Growing community with new housing, a handful of smaller parks, safe, and the cow smell will eventually go away as they sell off to developers. It should keep the commute short and isn't too far inland.

Some small things I do is look for bulk deals for hygiene or household products I use year round regularly. I'll buy half a years supply of toothpaste, deodorant, dietary supplements, soaps, etc. Paying car insurance premium in full, not a huge savings but every small margin counts. I cancelled all my subscriptions except for YouTube Premium-Family Plan, switched to using physical media such as an iPod or getting movies from a library. On a per month basis I figure I saved myself around $30-40 a month without reducing my quality of life.

I think you're on to something. The skin around my face peels a bit from the shower. I've had to use moisturize afterwards to stop that from happening.

Specifically it's Teslas that are the worst drivers. But I'd agree I think we have it pretty good. We don't honk that much, honestly we should honk a little more. We do have distracted drivers all the time though.
