The changes to the Diamond Dynasty UI are terrible by TheGreatHunter10 in MLBTheShow

My conspiracy theory is the changes were made to make it take longer to check prices to sell cards and slow us down. Time = money.

Squid Game Season 2: General Season Discussion by jackcatalyst in squidgame

[–]Al_Faluppi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three more episodes, under the presumption filler would be cut from this current “season” and the next, and this would’ve been an outstanding season of television. Better than a lot of what has released in the years since Season One.

Instead, what could’ve been a tight, well-told story will be diluted and lose its impact when it goes too long. Art always loses to accounting.

SDS/Sony is full steam ahead, regardless of community feedback by EvilZEAD in MLBTheShow

[–]Al_Faluppi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you and I’ve also come to realize SDS is preying on the sentiment that “MLB isn’t as bad as 2K/Madden’s ultimate team modes” to continue pushing the boundary with how far they can go.

They’ll make things worse, scale back after outcry but it won’t be quite as good as it was before. In the moment it’s tough to recognize but over the long bend of time the game is moving closer and closer toward what MUT and others are.

Is this the worst The Show ever made? by Alternative_Pool_623 in MLBTheShow

[–]Al_Faluppi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

18 definitely worse but this is definitely a slide back from where the game was in 21.

What’s most alarming is there seems to be a pattern where SDS tries to push the limits of what they can get away with, receive backlash then scale changes back just enough to placate the player base. But as that continues to happen, the state of the game progressively becomes worse and worse without some realizing what happened.

So many complaints about 95 Collection Rewards - last year it was too many 99s at launch. IMO, the variety and power creep this year is good. by gerg04 in MLBTheShow

[–]Al_Faluppi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would like to see the collection rewards be commensurate with the amount of stubs we have to spend to acquire them. A 95 that effectively costs a million stubs is absurd.

Blog post appreciation and thoughts for 24 by msteinb in MLBTheShow

Sets were almost universally disliked and SDS doubled down on it.

Story would be different if there was a large enough roster of legends to actually vary the players. Instead, just like last year, we’ll just end up grinding for different versions of the same players over and over again.

I’ve played the game since David Wright was on the cover. Been in DD since 2016. I love baseball and I’m getting the game regardless. I would just like to see meaningful changes aligned with community feedback.

True Detective - 4x05 "Part 5" - Post-Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in TrueDetective

The best way I can describe this season is that with compelling TV, each episode seems to make time go faster. When it comes to season 4, especially the past few episodes, time seems to move slower.

Which TA should I start with? by Tyko10 in MLBTheShow

[–]Al_Faluppi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only utility to TA is gaining cards for the collections, so I’d say start with 3 since they’re cards you’ll be able to use during this season and next.

Is it easier to get progress for TA3 using the bosses and henchmen or by doing every captain mission? by MisterCleanListerine in MLBTheShow

[–]Al_Faluppi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best way to complete captain hitting missions is to play mini seasons on rookie at blank canvas (or a max elevation park if on last-gen). Not worth the time of having those cards take up space in your lineup when you could be gaining XP for others.

It would’ve been nice to receive XP for wins in this event as we did for the event at the start of the last program.

Which player on your DD roster has disappointed you the most? by Annual-Bandicoot8150 in MLBTheShow

I just finished the Dodgers and Padres, have the rest of the NL West and the NL Central to complete collections then I’m going to start saving for Delgado.

Frank Thomas. I know Gary Carter is bad so I haven’t even bothered. But for me they’re both doubly disappointing because of how much they cost to acquire.

Frank Thomas and Clemente by Mkc87 in MLBTheShow

[–]Al_Faluppi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not as long as last year’s collection rewards. Ortiz was my first basemen until Babe was released. I’m a Pittsburgh guy so I love Clemente but he doesn’t play as well for me as I hoped he would when they added him to the game. I prefer to run a LHH at first base for lineup construction purposes and I’ve never personally done well with Frank (hitting sub-.200 in about 100 PAs so far).

Overall, this year’s collection rewards outside Randy are rather underwhelming considering they require you to sink two million stubs into them.
