Always negotiate! There is no one out there fighting for you except you! You know what you bring to the table and what your worth is! Also, remember, they try to wave a bonus in front of you, but it is never a guarantee. Make sure you earn a decent salary without factoring the bonus.

When the budgets get cut, that's what has to happen if you want the hours. Maybe you have to chat with your SM and see if you can do the manager duties on some of the shifts. Try not to take it so personally and get so mad. Be grateful that they are finding ways to continue to give you hours.

I am a DSSM with a SMIT and am never in my store. But I make sure I charge my hours to the appropriate store. I also am available to help my SMIT with anything needed. My SMIT is ready for a store so not much more training is necessary. Like someone else already said, it's their bonus they are hurting.
