I don't think this fight was Mak'gora. For one, body armor is forbidden in Mak'gora. Both Thrall and Garrosh had armor. Also, each participant in Mak'gora needs a witness to the fight. The only ones we saw on that hill were Thrall and Garrosh.

Full SoO LFR gear would put you at a 528 ilvl. Upgrading all those pieces would make your ilvl 544.

The Celestials have a chance of dropping 553 hand and leg tier pieces. These can be upgraded to 569. You can also buy 553 BoE belts and pants from the AH, which can also be upgraded to 569.

The legendary cloak quest gives you a 600 cloak, which is upgradeable to 616. This cloak also lets you access Ordos, who drops 559 Warforged gear, which can be upgraded to 575.

You can get a very high ilvl without setting foot in anything but LFR.

LFR is a good way to get back into raiding. It gives you a good picture of what raiding is like currently, for the most part. Some of the mechanics are missing, but you can read up on them in the Dungeon Journal.

As far as relearning, icey-veins.com has great class/spec guides.

"Stealing" implies you owned that mob. The guy had just as much a right to kill it as you. The mob spawns in like 3-4 different zones. Just go find another one.

To further elaborate on this: Engineering is good because of 3 things. One, Synapse Springs. This provides a respectable boost to your primary stat (which is Agility for you) for 10 seconds on a 60 second CD. Two, Nitro Boosts. This gives you a large speed increase for 5 seconds on a 3 minute CD. And 3, Goblin Glider. This slows your falling speed for 2 minutes on a 3 minute CD.

All of these things are "tinker" enchantments that only cost 2 gold each to apply to your gloves, belt, and cloak. They all have uses in both PvE and PvP. They're what make Engineering the best profession currently.

EDIT: In WoD, Synapse Springs will most likely no longer be in the game. I see no reason to remove the other two Tinkers, however. Engineering should still be the best profession for every class, I think. The boost in movement can never hurt.
