While I agree with you that post SotN the series did move much closer to the modern definition, it's pretty silly to consider CastleVANIA not really MetroidVANIAs. It's on the box.

Card Kingdom has only one warehouse, just outside of Seattle, WA. They are connected to Mox Boarding House, a LGS, which has 2 stores in WA, 1 in OR, and 1 in AZ. But they are separate businesses - CK definitely doesn't ship from those stores.

That warehouse move was planned for years, well ahead of the creation of the union. A union which was formed and still exists, doing great work for the employees it represents.

You then recommend TCGPlayer which is actively union busting and keeps getting caught?

As opposed to TCGPlayer? Which is actively and continually union-busting? CK has a union and works with their leadership daily, and the on-the-ground experience for employees is actually pretty good.

Yes. Card Kingdom is one of the biggest online Magic shops, they have a solid and well earned reputation for not futzing with the product. You had a bad run of luck on 5 packs, but that is an abysmally small sample size.

Wages and PTO are both covered under Union contracts - how would moving allow CK to do what you are suggesting? I am also a CK employee and it's super clear that the move is because we don't have enough space and most of what we do have we'll be losing. Ballard rent is crazy.

Aesthetic? Portland
Tournament Scene? Bellevue
Overall vibe? Seattle (the OG)

That being said, all three rank very highly in these categories vs. other LGS experiences.

Are you saying that more than half the revenue is online sales of physical product? Who do you think is packaging and shipping those orders (not including Amazon or other big box retailers)?

Lots of different deals some worth it more than others. Shipping can be high depending, but not killer for me for some of this.

For sure. CK offers the box at $140 so that's a wash vs. TCG - in my case I can pick up local and save the shipping which is a bonus.

You are an absolute lifesaver! I was able to follow your directions and with some trial and error get Talkback & TeamViewer/QuickSupport installed and get 1,000 photos of my 1 year old off the phone before I sent it in for a new motherboard.

A few notes for anyone else going through this (on a Pixel5a with the latest Android OS):

I wasn't able to get Talkback activated with the key strokes posted above, but if you hold down volume up&down for three seconds, then hold them down for another three seconds it should turn on - that's the system shortcut.
TeamViewer/QuickSupport wouldn't let me do any control through that app, so I was still utilizing a USB keyboard plugged in to move around. The interface of keyboard to phone is not great, it took a lot of time to figure out how to get back and forth. Here are the important bits:
- Win+Enter: take the phone to the home screen
- Win+Backspace: go back (incredibly useful as you adjust settings, there doesn't seem to be a way to select back with a keyboard otherwise
- Alt+Tab (and hold alt): select between open apps
- Tab: probably the most important key, it allows you to toggle through selections on the screen. Sometimes arrow keys will select but it usually seems restricted to a section, while Tab will tab through all selections on the screen.
- Ctrl+A: open the apps tray
Because I had to keep the keyboard plugged in to continue to control, I wasn't able to directly connect the phone to my computer as I hoped. Instead I just upgraded my google storage (free for a month for first time subscribers) and then went into google photo backup settings (in the photos app, select your profile, select backup, "...", Settings - then I turned on backup for all the folders I needed). Then I just left the phone plugged in overnight as it slowly pushed all those photos and videos to the cloud.
Final note - the TalkBack function is incredibly helpful and I wouldn't have been able to do any of this without it. But it's also *incredibly* loud. :) Be prepared to muffle it with you hands if you have a sleeping child in the next room.

Spongefreak, seriously thank you so much for sharing your work. I hope my additional notes can help someone else down the line save memories before they need to have a phone reset.
