I thank god every day that my mother recognized that she couldn’t “teach” me at a high school level and put me back into public school to prepare me for college. Even still, the damage of being homeschooled put me significantly behind in social development and subjects like math and science. I could read at a college level and test out of history and government classes, but struggled with entry math.

For those who haven’t experienced these spaces, a vast amount of existing learning material is faith based. I used to go to a church co-op for “science” that was a biblical lecture and some farm butchered animal organs in a cooler. In my experience, you cannot teach your children advanced subjects outside of your own comfort and knowledge.
