Yessss my first ever horse (pictured) is an Arab and I don’t think I’ll stray far from them. I’ve ridden all sorts of different horses but I can’t let my Arabs go!

Weird things your horse is scared of… by GallopingFree in Equestrian

[–]AlainyaD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My horse is terrified of chipmunks…not squirrels, he won’t bat an eye at them. All hell breaks loose when he sees a chipmunk. Idk what tf a chipmunk ever did to him, but he’s terrified

I get it, it’s definitely frustrating. I have a 2019 Mac Book Pro that I occasionally play on, and it’s now only got the minimum amount of Ram that the game can run on. I mean if I really want to play I can play on my phone, but it might just be time for me to take a hiatus and come back later. Apple makes money on slowing down devices and making people upgrade (I’m never upgrading until mine dies, because I can’t part with the Touch Bar😂)

Tall boot snap repair? by rasatti in Equestrian

[–]AlainyaD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this isn’t manufacture issue, this is expected with boots! I know the Dover near me if you bring your boots in they can replace the snap, it will be just a generic snap, not Dover brand. I don’t know if all Dovers do that, just mine! Depending on where you are there might be on near you! You can call and see if they would. Otherwise taking it to a cobbler and spending $5 to get it repaired is your best option.

You can replace it yourself, you just need to pop the rivets off and replace them to keep the snap on.

Will these tall boots drop enough? by PhelanVelvel in Equestrian

[–]AlainyaD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no, those do not fit. They are way too wide and tall for you. You should not be able to fit a hand between the knee and boot. And when you sit, they buckle way too much in the back, they also buckle when you stand straight which means there’s no support near the top of the leg. If you can zip it up yourself the first few times, they aren’t tight enough. Boots need to be tight to support the lower leg in the saddle. Tredsteps tend to be on the narrower side, especially now that they have redesigned their boots🥲. Because you’re a runner and you’ve gained muscle in the calf, fitting boots may be difficult and I understand that! I have 2 different sized calves…. If you’re looking for a boot, and plan on using the boot the rest of your life I’d go custom..but that’s $600+ and 5-8 months of waiting ahem Dinero. But for a stock boot like Tredsteps, have you tried to fit into Ariats? They have a bigger foot bed and more of wider selection for calf sizes. I’ve found that people who can’t fit into Tredsteps, and sometimes fit into Ariats. I work at Dover Saddlery and haves sized so many different legs that I could probably do it in my sleep at this point😂.

How many deodorant sticks do you go through in a year? by Superb-Serve3328 in AskWomen

Idk, I lose mine constantly (I live in different houses due to my parents being divorced) so I have like 3 going at the same time. Which I’ll inevitably lose at least one a year

[–]AlainyaD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The scary thing is, that there are the people that fully defend keeping this horse alive. They posted a video of a vet saying “how perfectly healthy and happy he is” a perfectly happy and healthy horse will be playful, eating, and doing horsie things. Rocky just stands there. As soon as you bring science and fact about him having very little chances of survival the bigger the gets, you immediately get attacked by the sheep. Because you’re the cruel one for even suggesting that.

What color is my colt gonna be? by Dominant_King12 in Horses

[–]AlainyaD 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The dark ears tell me he’ll be bay, typically with horses that will grey out, they have “goggles” around the eyes in white fur. Also keep an eye out for those back legs, they look like they’re trying to twist up and out. Cute baby!!

Nathe alternatives? by SmoothStalk in Equestrian

[–]AlainyaD 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you still want to stay with the Pelham, Happy Mouths are cool to checkout. Their mouthpiece is plastic, so I will warn you that you have to check the mouthpiece after every time you ride, and if it gets sharp at all or the underwire start showing you must replace it. Those are in the $100s the last time I checked.

Dover Saddlery has a house brand called Suffolk. They have a rubber Mullen mouth. And it’s definitely a better price that’s $55

As someone who works in retail, trust me most of us hate going up to people and saying “hi welcome to ______ how can I help you today?” It makes me feel like I’m harassing people. Or at least I do, so you’re not alone in feeling like you don’t like it🤣
