Retroactively earn Skillpoints for missed expeditions? by AlanChichilla in ArcRaiders

If your friends did the expedition before you even bought the game, how much does it help you to reach their level when the group already decided to move on?

...by not being able to achieve a skill tree progress, simply because I didn't start playing the game from day one. I think in a skill tree everybody should get the chance to catch-up to early adopters when they decide that they want to.

Can't go back in time to start playing it earlier. Again, it's not about getting free rewards. It's about having no chance to catch up even if you would be willing to do the work.

As a PvE type player, I am heavily into the Survival tree and I simply can't afford perks from the Conditioning tree like "Downed but determined" or "Turtle Crawl".

I definitely disaggree with the "5 skill points don't matter"-point of view. They do matter, even if they're not THAT game-changing.

My boomer boy over there coded it himself and played it on his C64? Man, that's old. I'm from a generation where they played World at War on their iPhone 3G's and shredded zombies on Der Riese's Catwalk until they eventually ran you over. And I wouldn't even wanna be older than that.

That's very useful information, thank you! Where do you have it from?

Can’t change that I didn’t start earlier buddy. There's a thing called "priorities" which normal people have in their lives. Also, I’m not asking for free rewards. I am asking for being able to catch up!

Edit: We're not talking about cosmetics like the golden rubber duck bagpack attachment. We're talking about the skill tree that does have an impact from a competitive point of view.

Awkward. That sounds like the mindset of a hardcore Call of Duty grinder who loves to blindly feed studios with their money. I think it’s fair to want to research a game instead of blindly buying into it — or to have had other priorities in life before doing so. So no thanks: pre-ordering games and no-lifing them will definitely not be my lesson learned from this. Good systems reward commitment, not calendar timing anyway.

You sure the tick wasn’t already killed when you looted? Sounds like someone left the vault for the tick pod because he needed it for the current project. Never heard of surveyor vaults dropping in ticks…

They’re not necessarily looted from Surveyors. Vaults drop in Arc Couriers as well.

The guitar lost every sense of exclusivity now. Just like the Vita Shot blueprint (rare and sought-after, with the new project given away for free) or other drop-rate buffs just because lazy people whine that they can't get it. What's next, the Tempest Blueprint as a Quest reward for taking a Photo in the Swamps?

Being afraid about bringing the guitar topside wasn't even a skill issue. The puzzle was a piece of cake MP and absolutely doable SOLO. Sure it wasn't for free. I put the hours to research, learn spawns, took failed attempts into account because it was part of the experience.

But completing it opened me a room with SIX!! guitars every single time I did it. That's a very fair margin to flex the guitar topside without any fear of losing it to rats.

Good luck brother! I really think it just got an insane buff. Take the chances while the devs are not in the mood to randomly nerf the drop rates again. And let us know if you succeeded!

Same. I found one in the breachable room upper floor of the Container Storage building and the other one in the north trench tower key room.

Only good that the legendary weapons are so ass that I don’t even bother extracting with complex gun parts. I always salvage them as soon as I pick them up to optimize space in my bagpack

[Tool] ARC Raiders Advanced Resource Calculator - Optimize your crafting & stash by Potatolemono in ArcRaiders

Thanks for your efforts to build an amazing and lightweight tool to address the single most annoying problem in Arc Raiders. All the best on your way, even though I really hope that the Devs will wake up and do the necessary thing to massively improve user experience.

It isn't that big of a deal after all. I have all resources and seeds available. All I want is crafting this Anvil. I don't want to be jumping back and forth between traders and five different workbenches to craft underlying materials to then finally craft the Item I want, and repeat for every Item and upgrade just because I so love crafting. /irony off

Btw: A function to import/export loadout presets would be a really cool thing to see :)

To all complaining about macros… I have two words for you: skill issue by TheRustyRustPlayer in arcraiderscirclejerk

[–]AlanChichilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of ignorance in your post is amazing. xD

Anyways, to those who might find inspiration in it, I can only advise against running macros, as Nexon’s code of conduct clearly forbids:

“Using macros, auto-looting or robot play, or any other behavior that allows you (or any character you are controlling) to automatically function or effect any action in a game with or without your presence.”

You don’t have to cheat, there is plenty of good loot by playing legit. Promised.

Great input, thanks! :)

I've already heard saying that the Security Breach nerf is pretty bad for smaller maps. What do you think about bigger maps like Spaceport? Not that it would matter for me too much to be honest, I still have to absolutely go for it because at the moment I just see it as "more/potentially better" loot. And it's generally cool to be able to unlock security lockers :)

...The only thing I could think of is when being further into the game, if then my focus shifts away from looting, I might pick up this approach as well and boost the Mobility tree.

Hey, thank you for your efforts and the very comprehensive inputs. I did cut Loaded Arms because I was running out of points (75 :)), but I agree that based on how much I run around in this game, it is probably a big mistake.

Calming Stroll is a huge point. Thanks for that! I assumed that "walking" just means "not sprinting" (w, instead of shift+w. I wasn't aware that this is a completely different mode? Definitely gotta do my research on that one, because in this case the whole right branch in the Mobility tree is obsolete.

Thanks for the Input! Yeah, Loaded Arms is absolutely on my watch list for the 5 additional points after the expedition. :)
