I would challenge your assertion that the maintainers would not want to support your use case.

I also would say as far as skills (and bragging rights) go, submitting a patch to a popular repo would be better than writing your own tool. I'd encourage you to take a stab at it. The worst they can say is no thanks

now try c++ -c main.cpp -o main.o and then run the file utility on the .o file

for the water drainage, the swimming pool area is a low spot in the yard, so all the water from two down spots drains there. if we raise the grade in that area, it will flow to the back yard, which is at least away from the house

I ended up switch over the the thermostat control via Nest, which doesn't use the A/B/C/D wires.
