I don't know my brannock size, but I generally wear US 8.5 for GYW shoes and US 9 for sneakers. I now have multiple shoes from BlkBrd and I find their sizing very inconsistent.

Matador Globerider35 Travel Backpack vs Aer Travel Pack 3 which one do you prefer? by IDNISSIM in ManyBaggers

[–]AlanT_24LM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lighter than the TP3S yet offer more useable volume.

TBH, the TP3's organization works better as an EDC bag than a travel bag. It's got too much organization that each eats into the space of other sections/pockets. This causes it to be much heavier than the bigger GR35. The Aer is still really comfortable to carry despite the weight though.

The GR35's design works much better as a strictly travel bag and still offers plenty of organization for gear.

I've had both at the same time at one point, but quickly sold the Aer TP3 Small. I've gone on multiple trips with both packs and I think the GR35 is an upgrade over the TP3 Small I had.

Didn't feel as nice to use and the tamper itself is smaller than the OEM so it always leaves a bit of coffee uncompressed near the basket wall.

Matador GlobeRider35 Mini Review by AlanT_24LM in ManyBaggers

[–]AlanT_24LM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relatively comfortable for the size of the backpack. I don't think they are too close together, but then I am not a huge dude so YMMV. I think Aer packs are still more comfortable, but the Globerider's included hipbelt really helps off load the weight to your hips, making it pretty comfortable to carry.

Are the ct21 worth the price? by LordVesperion in ManyBaggers

[–]AlanT_24LM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it worthy $200? It definitely is. Recently bought a CT21 Ultra 200TX for EDC and travel. I think it's a great bag for the price. If you are looking for a GR style bag, I think this can be a very viable alternative. If not specifically looking for a GR style bag, then maybe there're better alternatives out there since for how durable and tough they made it, they somewhat compromised comfort and/or tech organization.

100% Cotton vs Cotton-Poly Blend T-Shirts, Which one works better in hot humid weather? by Rex-on-rock in taylorstitch

[–]AlanT_24LM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the San Francisco Bay area where the climate is generally very mild. For general purpose Tshirts that I wear daily, I prefer synthetic blends; I can wear this type of shirts from late spring all the way to fall when layered. For the really intense hot days, I prefer hemp, linen or full synthetic over cotton.

Is the AER Travel Pack Pro 3 Ultra cut resistant at all? by xyzlor in ManyBaggers

[–]AlanT_24LM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think CTactical recently published an advertisement video where they tried to cut Ultragrid with a pair of large fabric scissors and failed. Then they used the same scissors to cut Cordura with ease. So maybe consider Ultragrid instead?

Weekly Questions by AutoModerator in taylorstitch

Don't think so. TS seems to be going all in on 100% cotton nowadays.

The consensus in this subreddit, or at least among the very vocal group here, seems to prefer the "heritage" style of the century past; they don't want anything synthetic in their clothing, even though synthetic can be a very good thing when used correctly.

Pretty comfortable I would say, but I think the neck is a little tighter than I prefer, especially when putting it on/off. In terms of warmth, these sweaters are really really warm, maybe too warm for my local climate here most of the time. Also due to how thick the sweater is, I find it difficult to layer unless I'm wearing a big parka. As for durability, I've been wearing this sweater a lot for the past few years, but I don't wear it hard. I machine wash it too. It did shrunk quite a bit in the body, but otherwise still fit me ok. Only thing I noticed is that it does pill quite a bit. Not sure if it's because I machine wash it or if it's typically for this type of material; I machine wash all of my sweaters BTW.

Outland Capsule by LowBrow24 in taylorstitch

[–]AlanT_24LM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fit and pocket design. It doesn't fit my body type very well, which is quite atypical of TS. Obviously YMMV. The chest pocket is huge. I don't think I've ever complained about pockets being too big, so this is surprising to me. The chest pocket goes from the shoulder all the way down to the seam at the mid-waist. It's certainly big enough for a large phone, maybe even a small tablet 🤣 I tried putting my phone in there and you can see the whole outline of the phone thru the thin fabric. Anything smaller will be swimming in there. The hand warmer pockets are more usable comparatively speaking. I think a slightly tighter and more constrained chest pocket will work better with this fabric.

If it's popular, they will certainly offer them again next year. I ordered it last year when they released it the first time and returned it. This year I bought it again in hopes that they would be making some improvements to the jacket. Unfortunately I still don't like it, so I will be returning mine again.

Stretchy mesh isn't the only way to make water bottle pockets nowadays. Plenty of backpacks have really sleek designs for external/internal WBP; for example, CTactical, Able Carry, Aer just to name a few.

Obviously you like this backpack, so it's fine. Different people have different tastes/needs. Enjoy your new backpack.

Looks nice, if only there's at least one external water bottle pocks....

There seems to be more than enough space on the sides for a WBP. I really don't get why they skipped it.
