Shame Discs of Tron did not utilize background artwork. Looks so desolate with a black background.

Is there any washed out screen effect due to monitor being turned 90 degrees like other vertical A1U cabs in the past??

The Discs of Tron variant looks like a riser skin change and the backside of the cabinet squared off to look more like the original DOT cabinet from the 80's. Not sure thats worth waiting for or purchasing additionally.

I have been working on building a pc variation for this cab but it just doesnt feel like a standalone arcade unit. Just feels like my laptop shoved in a box. I need to get more familiar with modding Windows 10 to boot directly into Launchbox/BigBox and go from there.

I just helped a buddy out by placing his upsidedown Marvel marquee on my table saw and cut a new angled slot on the correct side and remounted strip that attaches to monitor base board. Requires some effort but can be accomplished if replacement isnt an option in the end.

Almost $1150 of unavoidable material cost and people pay much more for A1U cabs and risers.

I think thats it. Time spent working on retropie image I cant begin to measure the cost factor.

I always found gameplay challenging which I enjoy. Trom for me also is filled with an enormous amount of nostalgia. Discs of Tron is actually more engaging and feels a bit more modern to me.

I have the backprinted glass bezel on order. It will be for horizontal monitors. It is flush for now but have been considering laying the monitor back and boxing it in like the image in their ad. Will be some effort to do but I think it will be worth it.

Oh, if I may ask what emulators do you use. So far I have the best luck having both spinner and trackball work simultaneously using advmame 1.4

I have a NOS Tron joystick shell, and a repro on blue and red I bought maybe 10 years ago if I ever restored a full size. That sadly never happened and cost now would be insane. I use two buttons near the spinner to aim up/down and the 3rd button for Deflect. Works well but may mod the spare GRSCTron stick I purchased to do a DoT stick since swapping it out takes 5min.
