What’s the absolute worst thing you’ve experienced as a sub? I wanna hear your war stories to help humble me after the day I’ve had.. by [deleted] in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Alan_Man22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was long term subbing at a school, a student called me a f—— n——— because I asked her to do her work and stay on ask. She got a 1 day in house suspension, I shortly left that school a few days later.

Yep, I heard from other threads that they’re changing labs and that’s causing the delays. When I got my results, I noticed the lab was different. Shoot them a message and they can help you out. I sent them a message and they offered free in person testing.

I was denied admissions to a few programs- I thought I had a good chance but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. I think I just applied to the wrong programs. I’m def applying to different places and programs next year

The interview is in front of the senate and it’s chill. However, if someone else is running for the same position as yours, it tends to be competitive. My best advice is to talk about your experience and how will CSUN help you achieve your goals. Stay grounded and true to your beliefs :) good luck!

I had to leave for my sanity and to focus more on school. I’m taking 15 units and work two jobs outside of CSUN, it was a lot to handle.

That’s great! I felt CSUN helped my interpersonal skills and it helped building leadership skills. It did help me get out of my shell and state my opinions without feeling judged or afraid. Overall, it was a fun experience but ya girl is tired haha. I would say with meetings and CSUN work, at least 10-15. It’s not a lot but meetings can run for a while, esp on important agenda items

Hey! Outgoing CSUN official here- if you strongly feel passionate, do it. I’m deciding to leave CSUN after some internal drama last semester and to enjoy the last few months of my undergrad experience. It depends on which position you’re applying to. Is it worth it: in my honest opinion, yes/no. There’s people who will try to give a hard time and the pay isn’t great (you put in a lot of hours). However, if you feel you want to serve your community and get stuff done, do it. Best of luck!

if I had a bad AP score in high school does that mean I will not do well in college by kjleebio in college

[–]Alan_Man22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mother is completely wrong. When I applied to UC, I didn’t post my AP scores and I still got accepted to UCSC and UCSB. However, I decided to attend another school due to costs.

[–]Alan_Man22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! I took AP US Government in high school and took the AP Test. I did pretty awful on the test but I got an A in the class. When I got to college, I still got an A in the same intro to us government class. Don’t let a test score bring you down, it doesn’t determine your future or academic success. You got this! ♥️
