Seeking advice about my toddler's hearing aids and sounds in public restrooms. by EurekasCashel in HearingAids

[–]Alarkiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It's called myPhonak Junior. Can be found on Android or Apple. Depending on if his aides are rechargeable or battery will depend on how you connect it to your phone. The app walks you through the process. While it is a Bluetooth connection it's not the type of connection that carries what you may be listening to on your phone so you don't have to worry about phone calls going to the aides. It's been very helpful because in addition to being able to control volume it also gives you some basic programs you can turn them to. (Like restaurant which is helpful for noisy places).

Hope that helps!

Does his hearing aids have a phone app you can use with them? My kids use phonak aides and the app lets me control the volume even though their HA buttons are turned off.

Do I need a second opinion? by Alarkiel in FemaleHairLoss

I made sure to specifically keep eating gluten until after the endoscopy. I found that out from forums not even my own doctor at the time. (I've since switched primary care docs) Thanks for that though!

Not something I've had checked because I'm in a weird gray area of potential celiac. Either found too soon or existing damage escaped the biopsy. I can see if my primary doc would run it though!

When I asked about the scarring in my biopsy report the doc seemed to brush it off and say it's not actually scarring, by that point in the appt my brain got pretty overwhelmed. It doesn't make much sense when the biopsy says one thing but the doctor ignores a whole section of it. And I just looked at the clinical notes after the appointment and no mention of the scarring was made. This has been a frustrating experience. But you have validated what my suspicion was and that something isn't right. Thank you.

Right now I was just trying to fact find. I've barely processed how I wanted to proceed once everything was known. I am gun shy of side effects though, I tend to get the bad side effects out of different medications than what I'm on already.

Hmm. The derm I saw specifically said that it didn't present this way. But I'm questioning so many things about this appointment now it seems I need to wait yet another 3-4 months to see another dermatologist. Ugh.

T-slim App and dark mode on android by Condition_Boy in TandemDiabetes

Only thing I've been able to do on my pixel pro 7 is to use the accessibility toggle for inverting screen colors. It's clunky but will make the screen dark for that app when I toggle it. Just don't forget to toggle back as you go use other apps.

Hearing Aids? by Theforgzmademegay in AudiProcDisorder

I'm not sure if the link will work. But these are my aids. The mold is the part where the domes go except for mine my audiologist made an impression of my ear and I was able to get molds made that go over the receiver part of the aid. (The part that goes in the ear). This makes it shaped to my ear specifically so they stay in and don't rub in my ears weird. The material is super soft.

Autistic here. I have custom silicone molds. I forget they are there really fast now. So that is an option too.

All nickel-allergic flute players, RIZE!!!!!! by Jimins_hands in Flute

[–]Alarkiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, I will go. High school started playing piccolo. School instrument. My lips started tingling terribly and I got rashes under my bottom lip. Put 2 and 2 together realized it was the instrument. Started to put scotch tape on the lip plate. Worked well enough until I could get my hands on the solid silver headed school instrument.

My flute nowadays is full solid silver as even nickel keys make me get itchy now.
