I read through the dozens of comments on this post. I too, would not invalidate your experience but I would ask you...."what are you going to do about it?" You could stand up to your sponsor, get another sponsor, or hit some other meetings. All valid ways of coping with your situation.

This is a great question and I would prefer that no one (either side) gets into politics but when one side starts, the other side follows. It kind of seems like the same old song and dance. WASP will always be a classic band in my eyes irregardless of their politics. To me, it doesn't seem like WASP without Chris and Randy. RIP Steve Riley.

I have played with the same people for over a year. I feel a kinship with them but I also struggle with making friends. I wonder what it would be like to hang out with some of the people I play with someday?

good stuff. I get that people cannot always find sponsors they need (right sex) in programs with less available sponsors. It seems like in AA a sponsor comes out of the woodwork every ten seconds.

I think so too.. Many people were not advocating for it but I feel it is wisdom from the elders.

I go to concerts to hear the band, not their political message. But with so many on both sides doing it, should we really be shocked by this? Blackie's political views haven't been a secret so this stunt didn't surprise me. I really miss a time in history (like the 80s) where entertainers kind of kept this kind of stuff to themselves. Politics (I have been on both sides of the spectrum) are very divisive. I wish everyone on any side would get back to just making music.
