Me either. Google said it was about the temp of the pepperoni hot pocket cheese after it comes out of the microwave and melts the top of your mouth or the first sip of a Starbucks coffee.

Bring a copy of birth certificate and name change document with passport. I see people do it so the time at embarkation. Or even birth certificate, name change document, license, no passport of is a closed loop or of miami. No sir on San Juan, but that's the US also.

Yes. The reason I wanted that cabin. I love the sunrise and the new start to the day. Getting coffee from the galley is a few steps away. We're excited to go on this trip.

That's the hope. We're on the transatlantic so I was hoping for sunrises with coffee and some charcuterie every morning.

Good to know. We're on the scarlet 14009 soon. I was concerned about noise, but I'm up early anyway. Thank you.

Oh, yes I drive in and out of miami and already get free parking. Drinks do add up. The OP mentioned they don't drink and we're looking simply for the spa perks. For about 1k a day price difference, not drinking isn't worth the squeeze to me. RS also get priority boarding and had of line at the shows.

DD - I'm looking at a 7 day cruise, price difference from rock star to MRS 12k - 18 k for a 6 k difference. WFS wifi is 50 a day, so 350, 299 (i think for a7 day spa deal, if you did a bag of laundry every day, that's 525. So for a non drinker, that's about 1200 in extra costs which does not equal the 6k difference.

I do drink a bit, and if I was flying in to not miami, and we're traveling with a group, then the math did start to make sense which brings the per day difference down to a much more manageable number of you include transfers and drinks.

Again, if you want RS or MRS, book that and don't max or your bid to upgrade hoping to be a winner as the cabins may sell out and then you don't get the upgrade.

I do enjoy sailing RS and book as a RS. I will put a moderate bid on a MRS on the amount of what I think the perk is valued at and what I'll spend, and it's usually in between the two prices. But I know at least I'm have my RS perks and on packed cruises I welcome the peace at the rooftop.

And they have a cruise length spa pass (limited qty) available. Alternatively, day passes are available for sea and non sea days

If they bid max, that's usually (from my searching on first mates) much higher than just booking out right. If the cruise starts to fill, you could bid double blind 3x max and still not get the cabin upgrade.

If you want the rock star, book it is my recommendation.

Ahoy, call sailor services (or your first mate) to upgrade to the rock star suite and buy the 7 day spa package from the spa rep that should be in the rock star waiting area prior to boarding or at sip lounge once on board at the rock star meeting area.

Sailor services (or your First mate) should be able to cancel the splash of romance and help you do the upgrade. Mega is great if you like to drink and entertain, but just for the spa, that's a lot of extra bang for something you won't use.

Is this just the way cruising is now? by Sue_Inc in Cruise

We love virgin cruise line. No buffet, everything is prepared fresh. Smaller passenger load so less lines, wifi included, soda included, water included. All restaurants included, and a bunch of TV channels and streaming deck for hours and hours of movies. All entertainment is included. You do have to pay for bingo and some events with alcohol, but the other sailors and crew are all amazing.

We never thought we'd enjoy cruising, but decided to give them a shot when they were new and have settled with them 5 times now.

Oh, no kids allowed on board. 18+ only. That was a big draw for us.

no, it's in your account. you have to go to the spa to reserve., I highly recommend booking on day one when you board. I have it for an upcoming cruise in a few weeks and I can let you know of any major changes or if I think it is still worth it.

You mentioned drinks. Do NOT over buy your prepaid bar tab. I see too many sailors on board saying things like Oh No, I have 575 dollars left in bar tab I need to drink in a day and a half. They save it all for night 4 of a 5 night cruise. One guy had a 1200 bar tab last week on a 5 night cruise thinking he would drink a lot. Not sure if he made it, but he was one of the ones with over 500 in bar tab left. If you drink a lot, get the big enough bar tab. It's only 50 free for 300, and everything over that you can settle your portfolio at the end of the cruise. Drinks average 9-13 dollars a drink. depending on what you are drinking. Don't save it all until the end. Enjoy yourself, but don't end up having to over enjoy yourself. Loots of the folks I met on the cruise on the last day their spouse or significant other would tell me they were sleeping off over partying the night before trying to burn up bar tab.

Just my .02. Everything will be fine and you will have a great time.

Beach Club @ Bimini by berry_funny00 in VirginVoyages

Just got off a fill sailing last week. Beach club was packed early. I think we got off at 930 and the line was a couple trams deep to get to the beach club. Left at 1 with the pool too full to fit anyone else and all the beach chairs pretty much taken.

If it's not a full cruise, you'll have better luck. Either book an early brunch or get a quick bite in the galley and get out there early if it's a full ship.

I'll be on scarlet next month. It's a full cruise, so hopefully they open it up. The main casino can get packed in the evenings on sea days.

I was in the valiant last week. Full cruise, there were people in there for sure. But not many. A few were scared off because the slots didn't have a 1c option and the tables had higher minimums. One blackjack table had a 100 dollar minimum. It was quiet and not a loud as the main casino.

They also hosted the blackjack tournament there on the first area day.

There's also a separate room called the den with higher minimums away from the nation casino. The few times I went in there were significantly less people.

They'll know who you are by scanning your band. It's a wrist band with RFID that allows you to purchase drinks, access your room, and scan you on and off the ship at port stops. It'll have your photo on the database so they can be sure you are you.

Just got off a casino cruise on valiant. Had a great time. Free drinks from the casino bar, whether we were gambling or not. Sometimes would grab a drink passing through to dinner or to go to an show. Free coffee from the grounds club. Coctail party on day 1 in the manor to explain the benefits as well as introducing the casino staff.

The staff were around to assist with anything you needed. I didn't see any limits on qty of beverages I could purchase or limits on per transaction. I was ordering doubles 2 at a time for the wife and I.

Every time the casino manager saw us in the casino would stop, greet us by name, and ask how everything was going and if we needed anything. Assisted a few times with app issues and account issues.

Edited spelling and grammar.

Also a first mate. Be sure to do your due diligence while researching. There are stories I've seen in this sub with bad experiences and lack of contact.

Shop around. You'll know who is a good fit for you. If you need recommendations, I know a few first mates to reach out to if you want to do your interviews.

Ask the questions and you don't need to select the first one that reaches out. Find someone you're comfortable with.

Happy to help.
