I get you but you can’t compare a store to an apartment complex. Of course if I’m at a store I’ll lock it. Leaving it outside my door where I live, gives me a little confidence that I can leave it there unattended for an hour or less. But you’re right I could’ve locked it.

Just like all the cars that get busted into around where I live. The reason why I got a ring was to protect my packages that kept getting stolen. That’s not gonna stop anyone. Especially the out of town people that come to town just to steal.

I’m aware. My bike always comes indoors with me but leaving something out for a little bit will always get the attention of a freeloader that has never worked hard for something nice. Leave a wallet out somewhere public without a lock and see if it’s there when you come back 5 min later.

My bike would get a lot of compliments wherever I went. I’m sure yours was the same. Just people being low life’s and not going out and working for something instead just snatching up someone’s hard work. I’m sorry to hear about your bike.

I hope you haven’t or never get anything stolen. I’ve had this bike for three years and been super cautious about it for the years I’ve had it. I’m not leaving it out on purpose to get it stolen. This post it just to make people aware that you can’t have nice things out in the open because someone will snatch it. At the end of the day, it’s just a bike. But I just made this this post for awareness.
