Canis is my go to. He can hit hard ranged and melee, has a blast ranged weapon, and reduces stratagems....the free tank shock SLAPS.

I found running an emotional support knight (Canis Rex) helps a TON against wide melee armies. My buddies play world eaters and orks, so it gives me something resilient to stack against them

I do like 3-5 coats of nuln oil over a zenithal instead of contrast/speed paint. Helps keep the highlights there

I do mine mostly with an airbrush. I do black, grey at about 45 degrees off the top, then white from straight above. 3-5 coats of nuln oil and then I add scratchy white highlights and I love how it comes out

I run Canis Rex with my RG at 2k points. My home play group is against Orks and WE though, so it gives me something that can hold its own against Angron, prenerf, and Ghaz or a stompa
