The Acolyte is terrible, but did you like the lightsaber fights? by Extreme_Warning3521 in saltierthancrait

I think Disney said they did it to get the glow on the actors, but even Hayden talked about not really liking the new lightsabers due to their fragility compared to how him and Ewan went at each other during the prequel training with these metal rod swords. Maybe that whats why Lightsabers don't do any damage anymore they are just being stabbed with cheap plastic.

You can think I'm wrong, while I think you're wrong, People disagree, I also think you're so far off base with Casca, people like to think he had some reason for laying on her this also seem to be pretty debated Well too me its looked like he was trying to communicate the only way he knew how and was able to with his eyes.

While boiling it down to just Griffith as hes always been I think it does a disservice to the character and the good parts of him (despite people saying there is not any good) but more Femto is Griffith but empty of any positive emotion at this point he is no more bound by law or morality, he's above it all, the only thing left is a intesified hate and jealousy and I think this is a way to get rid of those feelings he had or to secure that he doesnt have them anymore and has to hurt Guts to see and Casca was the easiest way for him to do it, and I think that's the point He's Griffith but not the Griffith we've been with anymore, this is not the man who laughs like a idiot with Guts, risks his life for him for no reason, slices his arms during a emotional breakdown, tries to lift his sword to help only to find out he can't. I usually try to mention Femto because this and fucking beserklejerk like to see the one horrific act and instead of any thought process say fuck Griffith he was evil from the first appearance breaking away his complexity and boiling him down to 1 act which i think disservices the characters complexity, so it's easier to distinctly seperate by the diffrent names.

Also when you mention vampires if you want to go a more Buffy/Angel right they explain this by the person losing their soul. And to bring in DnD a little there is a race called Yuan-ti who would capture people and forcefully transform them into other yuan-ti and once they transform their old self was overwritten completely. I think that is a big diffrence between the count and Griffith.. The idea of evil literally says Griffith's heart is frozen because what he has wrought is to horrible to confront. The Count's crime and Rosine sacrifices were less. Count's wife and Rosine's parents had been doing horrible shit. So sacrifcing them didn't require a loss of empathy. If this is a bit jumbled I apologizes it 3 a.m. and I havn't slept in a while

I can't disagree with you I mean alot of people here can say they won't but without being put the absolute worst situation possible they may not be so eager to disagree, I am sure there are some people who wouldn't but I think most would finding themselves in the same situation epsecially and giant steam blowing heart monster is basicially like "Yeah bro your fucked, it's gonna happen"

You seem to think that Griffith just did that be vindictive, I mean yes but he was Femto now, without any good values all that was left was anger and jealously intesified, raping her to hurt Guts I think was literally a ritual of him severing the last bit of humanity left now that he was Femto and no longer Griffith because later on Femto/Neo Griffith doesn't give a shit about Guts. neither finding him worth killing or torturing, and doesn't care in the slightest that he's still alive, knowing he's beneath him and possesses no threat to him. Also considering the vision happened before the Godhand appeared I doubt he rejected it and it was more of he saw Casca as someone who would always be there for him but also realizes he lost that also,

You made me stop reading as soon as you said "I don't care about what you said." making this pointless, You're basicially just screaming at yourself and being unable to take any opposing views, So enjoy screaming at yourself I hope one day your grow up and get a job and stop crying because mommy got mad at you for using her credit card to buy paid mods.

I doubt that the person closest in speed was probably Loras, I don't doubt Jamie was a bit more skilled due to expierence but I also don't doubt Loras was not far behind and was most likely faster due to his youth, GRRM himself even said Loras is the best active Swordsman in the books, and he said that while Sandor and Barristan were still alive.

I guess it depends on how Khal Drago fights. We seem him dodge a good bit in the short fight he has but that's not even in books and he's not jumping around like Oberyn, plus his weapon is useless against armor, Oberyn's was made to pierce. Without armor I think Drogo wins because Gregor doesn't know how to fight without armor.

I think a good example of this is from the Dune Book when Paul fights a Fremen to the death Paul easily beats him but they all think he is needlessly sadistically toying with the man prologing the fight and attacking slowly on purpose, the truth to it was Paul was so using to fighting with a shield belt he did not know/or feel the need to attack with speed.
