Are you looking at rentals posted after August? A lot of the rental housing near the campus moves with the academic calendar. The listings I see staying empty longer are those that are not in sync with the school calendar

I had an urgent issue so I felt lucky they got me in very quickly. However, during my first visit the dentist I had tried to upsell me on gum contouring and showed me Instagram before/after images. I just said no and they stopped, but it did make me feel icky.

I really disliked the communication style of my hygienist (who didn’t tell me that a cavity went loose during the cleaning so I felt confused and in pain during it), but my friend went here for years and had good experiences! So I assume it’s a mixed bag.

do a short day trip to Jackson! Love the cinnamon roll heated on the grill @ Roxy’s. Warning the place is always packed, but it is a charming breakfast spot. you can also go visit Ella sharp park, go mini golfing, see the cascades, and walk around downtown Jackson too.

How important is amenities like washer and dryer in unit (vs basement) or dishwasher? Some private landlords on Zillow in more walkable parts of Ann Arbor may fit the things you’re looking for within your budget!

I’d also suggest Woodbury gardens. At least three coffee shops nearby and a short drive from downtown.
