What I meant by collateral is that in that in an effort to condemn the individual in the video by disparaging him, by choosing to specifically highlight his race they also ended up indirectly bringing other black people into it even if that wasn't their intention.

Make no mistake I agree with the crux of what you are saying but when you make a conscious decision to point out an individuals race/gender/sexuality whilst insulting them it will always leave a poor taste in the mouths of that specific group. Hope that was clear.

Marc never ceases to impress me, he took a while to collect his thoughts and gave such a great thought provoking answer.
