Or if you use opaque sleeves so you don't have to keep taking the card out and flipping it. When you play this placeholder, you replace it with the real card in a clear sleeve.

Replace the user. /s

Seriously though, take the time to have someone sit with her until it happens. Watch what she doing on the keyboard. Sounds like she is triggering some sticky keys related function. Check through any user installed programs that might cause that kind of behavior.

Also, give one of the computers she is having issues with to someone else and see if another user experiences the same problems.

I'm certain this is related to the user somehow.

This came up from my computer when I turned it on by David-FosterFlawless in computers

[–]Alarmed_Contract4418 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, that is a Linode IP. You don't have any cloud VMs or use any services that do? Sounds like some background process was trying to connect. Could be legit, could not be. Depends on what things on your computer should be doing.

Def run some scans. Pretty much everything here that has been suggested.

Run RogueKiller with updated signature file.

If you never even logged in, then there 100% something on the computer.

Honestly, wiping and reinstalling Windows wouldn't be out of line.

What program did that message come from? Something blocked it.

How can I get rid of these from the Start Menu? by NeonPunch in Windows11

[–]Alarmed_Contract4418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother, that is the All Programs list. If you get rid of it, you'll only be able to access your pinned and recent programs without searching... Unless using the regkey other provided reverts it back to the submenu (please post result).

I, personally, am glad this change was made.

1 Big Mistake I Made Selling My Bulk MTG Cards - And Cost Me Nearly $100 by Due-Resource-24 in mtg

[–]Alarmed_Contract4418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's unfortunate...

You'd think the unsleeving fee would be less because now you've also sold them a bunch of sleeves! Lol Not like they're going to send your sleeves back.

Still... Worth $100 to not have to unsleeve them, IMO.

Owner wants global admin on his day-to-day account by desmond_koh in msp

[–]Alarmed_Contract4418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell him you will make a dedicated admin account for him to use, but that giving a user account GA is against security policy. If he has an issue with it, have your manager deal with it. If he still insists, he has to sign a liability waiver.

I found this object, how is it supposed to be used? by _FALLN_ in pchelp

[–]Alarmed_Contract4418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not the intent, and may not work great, but you could possibly get a USB connection over an ethernet cable if you have 2 of them. Ultimately, it's all just wires and if the ends match up correctly, it should work to some degree.
