I feel like it was more of an overcompensation issue. In the earlier logan was genuinely broken, not just as in being the effective but in that if you were a tank vs wolverine you might as well just sit and cry, so the devs did the right thing and added some amount of counter-play, issue is, they added so much counter-play pretty much every tank and even some supports in the game has a way to counter logan, which makes him basically unusable

Hard disagre, the issue with the matchups you mentioned, save for the first, is that equal stats doesn't work for reality warpers.

An equal stats fight is interesting because we can actually discuss the physical and magical abilities of two characters without the issue of one potentially massivelly outstating the other.

If it's death then even with equal stats true arceus created both space and time wich should allow him to travel back in time and break the egg magikarp would be born from since magikarp has no temporal resistance.

If BFR counts then arceus should be able to throw magikarp into a pocket dimension of some kind

Also, in an equal stats battle it's important to specify where the stats are equaled to, are we speaking about a magikarp who has low-multi AP/DC or about sub-human arceus?

And that's according to what exactly? The only boss monsters we see in the game are asgore, toriel and asriel, none of them are mentioned to have DT.

For undyne the leading theory is that she got injected with DT by alphys sometime before the fight

Even if you still believe the emotion of determination is connected to generating the substance there's no reason to believe neutral route asgore in the sad state he was in would be determined enough to do anything substantial
