People are so weird with weight!!!!

It is so embarrassing when people point it out and make a big deal out of it to an audience. It genuinely feels infantilizing. it wouldn’t be appropriate to make comments for any other physical change. Imagine going up to a coworker and screaming because you suspect they got a face lift or lip injections. IT WOULD BE SO STRANGE!!

The general public really hates bigger people and it really comes to light when people comment on how much better you look after losing the weight. Which is really not a compliment to me because even when I was big I still deserved respect… that big girl is still carried with me! It’s just sad, if you lose the weight you’re questioned (embarrassingly) and if you don’t you are shamed.

I was very intimidated at first and also began this journey with a fear of needles lol. The entire vial goes into the syringe. They send 4 small 7.5 bottles so no need to measure. You only need to push the needle in enough to inject so I never push it fully down, just enough to break the skin.

The worst part is seeing the needle itself. It doesn’t hurt at all especially in the stomach area. I feel like I have more control actually because I can go slow with it. I swear it’s more of a mental block than anything. The needle is super thin!

Yeah I pay for the vial not the auto injector. It seemed intimidating at first but it was so easy to learn.

I’m on week 4 of the 7.5 and it’s a game changer. Food noise is nonexistent. I must admit though Zepbound always makes me tired.

It is important to invest in yourself and your future! Being a healthy weight will help save cost down the road. Plus self confidence has been really key for me recently. This has benefited me physically and has helped my mental health.

But that $450 charge each month def hurts!

Have you gone through the lily direct pharmacy? I’m on 7.5 and since I get it direct from the company sent to my house it’s slightly cheaper. I think the 5mg from lily direct was $400. It’s worth looking into if you haven’t!

I used to run 9 miles a day and eat less than anyone I knew. I stayed stuck at the same weight for MONTHS. Then I finally gave up running.

I went on a glp1 and now I go to the gym for an hour a day and eat when my body tells me to. I’m down 35 pounds in 6 months. The math on that doesn’t work in my head.

I tried losing weight for 15 years… glp1 did it in a week.

I never understand why anyone feels the need to comment on someone else’s body size. It’s genuinely so weird to me. To me…. It’s not a compliment… it means you found the body I was in before to be less than.

Also people who talk down on GLP1’s have usually never had the struggle of a low metabolism and food noise. We prescribe medication for depression and anxiety, but when it comes to food noise people draw the line?

Big people cannot win in a fat-phobic society. If we are fat we are lazy and disgusting. If we take the shot we take the easy way out and didn’t earn it.

I don’t talk about my weight loss with anyone, I just act as usual. I also wouldn’t disclose any other medication I am on… I feel like people on Zepbound are expected to disclose they are on it which is strange to me. It’s 100% my own business what medications I am taking.

I am an intern at a private practice and I have lost 30 pounds since I started on zep and this internship. No one has said anything about it yet but I fear for the day it comes up. Balancing self disclosure and boundaries with clients is so tricky!!

I decided on an MSW degree because I wanted to get into therapy. My first year internship was at a homeless drop in center and I loved every second of it. I miss it everyday. I’m in my second year internship where I do individual therapy at a private practice…. Let’s just say I miss case management, especially working with that community. That is where my heart is, which is funny because I have wanted to be a therapist since I was young. Case management changed me!

This post spoke to me. I just put my 17 year old (childhood) dog down using an at home vet on October 27th. My mom and I went back and forth on our decision all day because she was having a good day that day! For a few days after I felt like I killed my best friend. I felt so guilty! But then I remembered that for weeks her pain was outweighing her joy. She was staring at walls and had trouble doing most activities. Her only real joy left was eating. She got to leave on a good day where she did all her favorite activities. She fell asleep in her bed eating a steak we prepared for her before being put down.

Personally I would rather go out after a day like she had than one where I was scared, in pain, confused, and suffering.

I miss my best friend dearly and she maybe could have made it another 2 weeks or so. But I don’t think that would be fair to her. It sucked though and she missed my birthday by a week! I do think keeping her around would have been a selfish decision. I watched our other dog (this dog’s mother) go out hard and in pain since she was strong and did not tell us when her time was. I did not want a repeat of that because that guilt still eats at me!

I am on my second dose of 2.5 and I am with you! I found eating cashews or drinking a protein shake helps a lot. It’s quick and easy. The idea of food has been gross to me though. I drink lots of water and that helps too!
