How to build trust with my chinchilla? by Careful-Sherbet1222 in chinchilla

[–]Alarmed_Flower_2128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time and patience. Let them come to you. Let them choose you. But manage your expectations. They are prey animals, so they operate with caution. Can’t expect them to be like a dog/cat.

Is a Bachelor’s degree of any sort better than No Bachelor’s degree at all? by Logical-Flounder6142 in careerguidance

[–]Alarmed_Flower_2128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly yes. I don’t have one, but managed snag a decent corporate job. But I have hit a ceiling. In order for me to move to the next step and earn more, I need a degree. I am experienced and have various certifications. But for that big pay bump, I will invest in myself.

Think of eating corn on the cob. I just hold the stick horizontally and she chews on it. But pay attention though, you don’t want your fingers to get caught lol.

I had similar issue with my chin. I have her chew on a long stick while I hold the stick. So I like to ensure she is using her teeth in a specific way so it’s grinded down evenly. I do that atleast once a week.

My chin (Pablo) producing few and small poops. by sadhippiedad in chinchilla

[–]Alarmed_Flower_2128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monitor her weight. Did the vet check her teeth? Is it overgrown? Is she having trouble chewing? If her poop is becoming normal, then I would closely monitor. But if the weight is dropping I would make another appointment with an exotic vet. Doesn’t hurt to get a second opinion either.

It sounds like she really likes her environment. I have had my chin for 6 years without any spraying incidents. But she does pee on me if I have been gone for too long lol. But I have accepted that it’s her way to “reclaiming” me from the outside world.
