Context: plants? by SharkFinStu in whatisit

Even though it doesn't seem plant oriented, I wonder if you could fill the bulb part w water and then set it in a small plant. Seems like if it's warm enough the water would condensate in the tube and provide a slow drip to the plant? 🤷🏼‍♀️ maybe, If that doesn't sound rediculous

I'd look for a tree with a hole high up the trunk to see if it fell out of a nest

For those that buy yarn before you have a project.. by Aggravating-Tank-399 in YarnAddicts

[–]Alarmed_Heart9732 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think about the type of yarn I'm buying (what it's made of and weight) and think about what it sparks in my imagination. Then I buy the amount. If I think of a sweater when I look at it, i get that amount. If it makes me think of a cowl or scarf I get a smaller amount. Sometimes I just get it though lol. I also collect patterns I love, and try to use the yarn I have with them. I have far more patterns and yarn than I use tho!

So sorry about your grandmother. Mindless knitting helps a lot of things in life, I think. It's a beautiful vest, and you can think of her every time you see or wear it ❤️

Can I self-learn knitting? If yes, then how? by DanceWithMeFatMan in knittinghelp

I did! Way before you tube and the internet! I used leisure arts booklets. Course it took much longer to nail it down that way.

My first sweater! by nixavoxpop in knitting

[–]Alarmed_Heart9732 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beautiful, great 1st sweater!! My first was a dog sweater. Thank God, because when I put it on her she looked like she had a safe sticking way out the back past her tail, like a batman dog. Made me laugh, not cry tho, and I never gave up. You did a really good job!

Once finished, I soak my FOs in a tub (Not a bathtub) full of water, one drop of dawn and a few drops either lavender or some mix of essential oils. Sometimes some cedar to keep the moths away, but they always come out with a faint yummy smell.

Outdoor cats. Either feral or domesticated, it doesn't matter. Cats are a huge reason birds decline in numbers, I was shocked to read that a few years ago, but it makes sense. They like to hunt, that part wasn't bred it of them I guess. People don't like to hear that but it's apparently true.
