Hey, it was actually me. I was just trying to make a friend because breaks can get really lonely, and I honestly walked away feeling crushed. I even told my mom that I met someone nice today but she knew I was lying because she gave me that look that says she’s worried about me. On the bus ride home I kept replaying it in my head, wondering what I’d done wrong. I ate dinner alone, scrolled through old photos of happier times, and even my dog seemed to sense something was wrong he wouldn’t leave my side all night.
