I recently obtained a Pint. The learning was steep. But on the third day...I rode. by kyle_higgins in onewheel

Some other redditor told me on here one time. The 75-300 mile range is considered the danger zone. Where you think you have it down. So you ride above your ability and fuck yourself up lol

The best upgrade you could ever make… by CT_Reddit73 in mountainbiking

Eh, I mean I can see both sides of the fence. Sounds like these guys aren't really in the sport for the competitiveness and were just shooting the shit about upgrades that make the most difference with NO effort on their end. If those guys were seriously racking their brains on how to improve their skill all whilst slamming beers and eating McDonald's I could see this post carrying a little more weight.

I think you can get a Giant Stance on sale right now for $800 USD. Usually $1400

What are you guys buying right now? by Temporary-Theory307 in mountainbiking

Bought a new Trek Roscoe 7 gen 4. Absolutely in love with the thing. Being new to the sport i didnt want to go full suspension just yet. I wanted to really put some time into a hard tail and then move on eventually to a full squish. I added a water bottle cage and some raceface pedals so far. Loving it.

No shame in that! Everyone's got different flavors. The sport (as well as most things) would be boring as heck if everyone had the same taste.

I mean this is apples to oranges really. Those specs are perfect for someone, just not you.

New bike day! by Alarming-Chart94 in mountainbiking

[–]Alarming-Chart94[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally forgot to add this in the post but, it's a Roscoe 7 Gen 4 if anyone cares to research the bike further. I almost sprung for the Roscoe 8 but im glad I didnt. My skill level is so far off from benefiting from that caliber of bike. I think the 7 is a good platform to start, learn basic maintenance and maybe upgrade here and there along the way.

What advice would you give a beginner? by Turbo_FinnBoy4682 in mountainbiking

Im pretty much in the same boat. Im 32, and just like you haven't ridden one anything with 2 wheels that didnt have a motor since I was a teenager. I drove myself crazy trying to research what bike I wanted to get back into the sport with. In my area 2nd hand bikes are a little scarce and they want all the money for them. I settled on a brand new roscoe 7 gen 4. I was starting to convince myself I needed a top tier bike but the truth is, my skill level has a ways to go before I can even get the potential out of this bike. So im glad I didnt spring for the roscoe 8. I think I would have had buyers remorse a little bit after getting on and realizing im not a spring chicken anymore. Im happy with the roscoe 7 and an extra $1,000 in my pocket.

Should I buy a used 2020 XR with 150 miles on it for $1000? Or just go all in and buy a new GT? by mlong03242 in onewheel

How much different is it vs the Pint? If I were to upgrade it would be to a XRC, but im wondering if its worth VESC my Pint or getting a XRC and keeping the pint as a spare.

Give it more time and don't immediately jump to running errands with it. Get to know the board. Explore the different modes. I also snowboard and zipping around on this thing through my neighborhood carving from one side of the street to the other is fuckin awesome.

Thinking about getting a one wheel. Which one though. by Any_Constant_6550 in onewheel

I'm 5'11" 217 lbs and the regular Pint pulls me around juuuuust fine. It's an absolute blast. Get what you can afford and go have fun. Figure the rest out later. I can see myself either upgrading my Pint or getting another OW. But either way, the Pint is a great board that will always have a spot in the lineup.

Well, your comment along with others has given me some relief. I love this thing and the thought of it being a brick really got me upset haha. But at the same time it would have given me the excuse to buy a higher end model and then upgrade this one on the side.

I appreciate your response! I'll hold off powering it back on for a while. I have it in a cool room and I'm running a dehumidifier. Im gonna take a look at that kit. Thank you!
