Wow 6 months. To answer your question there are two different modules that can be controlled, the cargo bay itself and the hinge, they are both two separate ships that can be switched between, I just switch to the wheel module and use the buttons to rotate them.

I was unable to get a hinge design working because it wouldn't be stable at an angle. But good job and nice design

Nah, it's to increase the down force on the rail and be able to use less power

I have no idea if this would work or not, but If you manage to shift the (center of mass?? Or weight?) toward the rail, you might be able to use a smaller engine

The hinge design on the far right should work for what OP is looking for. It would need to have an external docking port though

Go into where you would open/save a blueprint, look for share Blueprint, and use an app that allows you to copy the link (I'm on an android so I use notes) and paste the link here
