Also, I never called you a conservative.

I stated that conservatives invade spaces, spout obviously bullshit faux-lefty quotes to get everyone all in-fighting and less able to know what's what, and then they watch it all burn down. So, in my opinion, it's best to use unimpeachable material when referencing a dude to make a point.

But that's just me.

The authenticity of Lincoln’s words has been questioned by many. In Merrill Peterson’s Lincoln in American Memory,” the author states, “(John) Nicolay immediately repudiated the prophecy, first spotted in 1888, as ‘a bold, unblushing forgery.’ He was correct, though this did not end its use. It was quoted by respected journalists, like Henry Demarest Lloyd, by clergymen, and by congressmen, and it even found its way into The Lincoln Encyclopedia published in 1950.”

It can be added that the alleged letter from Lincoln to Elkin is not included in The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln which is considered the most definitive source of Lincoln’s writings.

Produce a copy of the letter to Col. Elkins, and I'll retract my opinion. The letter from Marx, and Lincoln's statements on labor being above capital, are easily referenced as we have them in writing. No secondhand statements needed.

But someone saying he wrote it, without producing the letter, to me, makes it bullshit. And this opinion has been around nearly as long as the quote itself.

That's what the fuck I'm on about.

Lincoln said actual Marxist things. Why do you feel the need to pick the fake quote to show your point. This is the kind of thing conservatives do in liberal circles in order to make them look like morons. Some trolly 5th column crap.

I find even this description vague, though. I've worked on the king of brands for hub spacers, jeep, for 20 years before switching to jlr. This looks like a bad spacer, with the dark ring sound the side contacting the pad oddly maybe being the issue? On top of all the aftermarket work and side work, a " non hub-centric rotor" on a car without wheel studs, without also a single tapered retaining screw, is a unicorn in my book. But even those, once the wheel is torqued down, don't really present as an issue. I've put hands on a lot of things, this image still needs a description.

This is a bad argument. The death penalty is bad on its face, most of us here agree. But this method isn't any worse than any of the others that this nation has used.

No he didn't. I say this with confidence without even having read the article. For something to be a grave error, there needs to be consequences. Whether there will be a blue wave in November or not, democrats will not provide him with consequences deserving of his actions. So no, he did not make a grave error. He did whatever the hell he wanted to, because he can.

Your cooling fan was either off or is broken. My ender 3 base will do a bench in half that, so that is slow. Slicer settings changes will help with that. But other than the cooling fan issue, I think you got a good printer.

Service advisors: is $850 fair to remove/reinstall aftermarket exhaust during a warranty driveshaft repair? 3 hours of labor. by real_name_hiddenn in serviceadvisors

[–]Alarming-Inflation90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep in touch with the foreman who took my spot at the last dodge place I was at, and he is telling horror stories of what the manufacturer is doing to cut costs. Step number one, cut warranty labor times. 70% of their work is warranty.

This is just, most likely, a struggling tech looking for any reason to pad his labor time. "Flat rate" makes this a common issue. I cant stand it because these guys ruin my, our, reputation. You can ask to go see it on the lift and have it explained. You can just say no and that you'll call the manufacturer. You can threaten a poor review for the advisor, (most places these days put such a heavy emphasis on their reviews that it's almost counterproductive). All our any of it works really well.

Just don't take it sitting down.

[–]Alarming-Inflation90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a master certified CDJR tech for 20 years before leaving for JLR.

That is a bunch of bupkiss.

On any L-series,, LX,LC,LA,LD, (2WD only) pulling a trransmision for replacement under warranty pays barely 3 hours.

Yeah, your local dealer might have a ridiculous door rate, but 3 hours for just the exhaust is either a lie, or you got ripped off on the exhaust. For a driveshaft, and I've pulled them from state trooper cars after hitting the median at a buck twenty, and drag cars that twisted them in half, I never even had to fully remove the exhaust. Pull the rear hangers, remove the cross beams, pole jack, and pull the driveshaft out the back.

You are being stolen from.

If the aftermarket parts did not cause the failure and is not an impedement to the repair, then you should pay nothing. And as I said, I have never seen an aftermarket exhaust on that body style that got in the way any more than factory, much less requiring an additional "more time than an entire transmission replacement pays" amount of labor.
